I liked the friendlyness and helpfulness of the staff - I had visited for my mother-in-laws 90th birthday and a few family members met with us for a meal which was excellent - thank you for this as I lost my husband (her son) in Jan. of this year so the ocasion was special as I had not seen her since his death as I live in County Durham. Thanks again for the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. I hope to visit again in the spring - all being well.
所有评语 » Very comfortable rooms which were very spacious with excellent tiled bathroom. Beautiful beamed bar and restaurant, very cosy with excellent food, included a Sunday lunch and children's menu. Good selection of real ales. A very good value place to stay when visiting Canterbury. loved the old country inn interior, beams etc,as it was 0 degrees outside lovely to see a log fire,fire lighting skills a little beyond young staff so some nights it went unlit.but the overall ambiance was great as was the food. The location was perfect for trips into Canterbury, and to various attractions in the area. The meals in the hotel were varied, tasty and good value for money. We hardly had to use the car as local bus service was excellent. Good location. Friendly and helpful staff.Good value food in the restaurant.Rooms spacious were clean and tidy.Free parking with easy bus route to Canterbury We would definatly stay here again .No complaints. We parked our car when we arrived and did not need to use it again until we left-a park and ride next door! Room was comfortable and we enjoyed the well presented meals in the restaurant. everything. The staff could not do enough especially mary clean comfortable food selection was fantastic. A lovely break. would definitely stay again. thank you to all the staff. Very traditional 'old world' type hotel very tastefully decorated, good menu, well cooked and the staff were excellent. The room was clean and comfortable - very enjoyable stay. Very close to the city - we did walk it twice. Staff very friendly - especially the breakfast waitress who went out of her way to help. Good choice of restaurant meals. The Rooms were a good size and had plenty of Space and many Drawers for storage. Very comfortable Beds. Tea/Coffee Making facility well appreciated. a very well priced & comfortable Hotel within close distance to Canterbury town centre, friendly staff & excellent Dinner!. Terrific, large shower. Free parking. The restaurant in the pub is fantastic - wonderful food at very reasonable prices. Be aware that you pay for your room on arrival and because the hotel and restaurant are separately run you cannot add your restaurant bill to your hotel bill. Nice, attractive country style Inn; good and plentiful car-parking; The ease of access to rooms; the log-fires in the bar area for breakfast; the changing of towels daily; the warmth of the hotel overall (too many hotels scrimp on heating these days); the young guy who tended breakfast activity in the mornings was pleasant and helpful;. Staff were efficient and food was provided even though we were a little late in arriving. We had a nice, big room.The food in the restaurant was very good. Nice warm ambiance on arrival. Breakfast and Room. Room was large enough and clean. It was very cold when we stayed, but the duvet was summer weight.so woke up cold in the night, so had to pile coats and towels on the bed for warmth. resorted to buying all night electric blanket. also rad in bathroom did not work, so bathroom not a place to linger in. The continental breakfast was very basic. Could improve with fresh cheese, cold meat and boiled eggs. Pillows were not very good. the road noise as we were at the front was really noisy but if stayed at the rear would be fine. Nothing. Nothing. Table service a bit poor - we were left with no drinks after ordering them twice. Empty champagne bottle left in room for 2 days. The quality of Food was not good but typical of many Franchise Hotels where the same Menu is used in each one and it all comes in by truck. The continental breakfast was a little dissapointing with no yogurt or fresh fruit available!. Room was a little warm. restaurant menu had several items 'unavailable'. some times some simple food like baked potatoes cotage pies ect and continental breakfast should include ham cheese and youghurt. Wifi offered but unobtainable, also mobile dead spot. My wife became unwell and we had to cancel our last day. I do not know if we were entitled to a refund, but have had no feedback so far. Breakfast not the best, croissants not warmed up. Breakfast is open until 9:30, but most of the buffet food was gone by the time we arrived at 9:15. Everything OK, I can't complain about anything. Would have liked porridge for breakfast!. Odd music playing in the bar at times, wifi was a bit slow but nothing bad enough to detract from the overall pleasant experience!. Staff discussing other staff within ear shot. Didn't feel that I was a 'guest'. Bar not able to be used as booked for another function. Pretty poor breakfast. Food (breakfast & Dinner) were not very good for the money.We wouldn't eat there again. The bed. check in at 3pm. The breakfast. n/a. No issues. Staff holding a meeting at 10 am. So no staff about. Avoid optional extra cooked breakfast - took ages and disappointing. But buffet fine. The room which we we given was above the extractor fans which we had to ask if they could turn off as they we very noisy overnight. On arrival in the room we did ask if they went all night and were told no they would go off at 22.00hrs, but they didn't. If we stayed again we would not have a room on that side. Careless house-keeping: for example, on more than one of our days there was no coffee or milk in refreshment tray and no shower gel in dispenser etc. Pub staff could show consideration for hotel guests when locking up late at night and try not to be so noisy in the corridor outside the hotel rooms. We had the same problem on a previous stay too so obviously not just 'a one-off'. the room was fine but the bed was pretty uncomfortable - too hard altogether; mattress topper would be a good solution without having to change out all mattresses!; the cleanliness of the breakfast ware - several cereal bowls had food remnants - suggests problem with dishwasher (otherwise excellent); no saucers for cups - either use mugs or cups with saucers!; the shower tray filled up and overflowed a couple of times -maybe drain needs plunging. Bed too springy for our liking and bathroom mirror broken and covered in cling plastic sheet - not easy to shave ! Hotel signage confusing on the dark very wet night when we arrived - and we only saw the innkeeper name once we were in the carpark. The breakfast was a bit poor.A few different sorts of bread and one cup of coffee.I had a problem with toasting my bread but the lady from the breakfast did not help. Bed old and lumpy Needs a topper. Fire lit at 9am Gone by 4pm Proper fire bed e.g fire plate under fire instead of open grate. No toilet seat lid. Why? Shower gel was empty - had to get out of shower and swap for hand basin gel Lounge area:- Tables not cleaned Found dirty cutlery on the floor No napkins on breakfast table Lack of knives for breakfast. dusty room (first day) and noise from the road outside. Some members of the staff were too unfriendly. Cleanliness of dining area. Tables not cleaned properly. I had to sort through at least 10 plates to find one that looked clean for my breakfast. Carpet wasn't vacuumed from night before. Duvet too heavy- made very hot. The food that was served for our evening meal was awful sent it back but the replacement was jjust as bad, the waiting staff did there best but what was served from the kitchen was not edible. Breakfast was not really good. summer duvet in winter fermented orange juice for breakfast. stone cold croissants. food was very,very poor.bread was old no meat for breakfest.Never have i a very poor MEAL.
