Everyone was extremely friendly and more than happy to help. The Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the City Centre but in dire weather (as was this weekend) taxi's are happy to pick up/drop off. Only stayed overnight but impressed with the helpfulness of the staff, especially reception when booking in.Very helpful and friendly staff. Set in a quiet location but close enough to walk into the centre.

This is a well-decorated hotel in an attractive historic building, set back from the main road, about ten minutes walk from the town centre. The breakfast is excellent (quality Full English and bountiful Continental), and the staff are very helpful and friendly.spacious room, hotel set in a quiet and peaceful location, only 5 min walk to city centre. The location, the atmosphere, the friendly, helpful staff (not over the top) the food.the breakfast choice was fantastic and the room was very clean. Great staff too. The staff and their helpfulness to please and accommodate us. Rooms and hotel was great, very comfortable. Friendlyness of staff. The hotel itself is lovely and i was in the older part of the building which was brilliant however my mother and father found their room to be very noisy and did not have a very good stay they were in the newer part. Potential guests should bring their own toothpaste, because none is provided in the rooms. In-room television only includes about a dozen channels, and none of those are in any language other than English. Yes being disturbed at night by two fire engines who had been called to put out a fire in outbuildings!!. Food was dissapointing, especially breakfast!. Lack of leisure facilities.The seagull dawn chorus!!...and their droppings on my car!. I felt the breakfast meal prices where to high.The bedroom was too hot but the air conditioning helped although too noisy during the night!. No facilities.Although we stayed in November, the temperature throughout the hotel was a little too warm (even though we had snow). The service at dinner on Saturday evening was very slow. I believe therewere staff shortages. We sat down at 7.30pm and left the table at 9.10pm. Breakfast was disappointing, fried eggs were hard. The pillows were a little uncomfortable for me, one was to firm, second pillow although softer was very flat..I have a neck problem and did not sleep very much at all as I also found the mattress to firm with no give, so I was extremely tired in the morning and slept in our car for one and a haIf hours on our journey home to Reigate, direct from the hotel. Perhaps a choice would help.It took us 15 minutes to get three cups of coffee. Your cook cannot cook scrambled eggs. They were rubbery. Melt butter in little water. Beat eggs in bowl. Add to water/ butter mix. Cook low heat. Lovely! Bags not delivered to room prior to occupation. Very disappointed with the breakfast considering we were impressed with everything else. Our supermarket breakfasts are better, local produce would have improved the experience. The service was good though.poor service at bar. We were in the old part of the Hotel and the floor boards in the room above creaked a lot.On the pay T.V. it did not tell you what movies were on very clearly. The hotel had no knowledge of my booking. I gathered from the conversation between the receptionists that this had happened before with booking.com. Fortunately, the hotel had a room available even though it was late evening.the floors were wooden so we could hear people moving about above us. Room looked out over trash dumpsters and a derelict building. The room assigned was located far from the elevator and was quite difficult to access with luggage due to a series of doors and corridors.Because I booked for 2 nights my rate per night was £35 more per nightthan if I had booked for only one night! It might make economic sense toyou but it does not make sense to me! It left me feeling cheated. Full cooked breakfast wasn' that good. Given that there was a wedding reception at the hotel the night we stayed, we were unable to use the bar . Poor parking facilities. No bath mat. No non-slip bath facility. No loo roll holder.Meals were over priced.
