  I recently stayed in the Hilton in York and I have to be honest, I came away feeling ripped off. It nearly put me off trying the Hilton again. I tentatively booked the Double Tree for 2 nights - I have a sweet tooth and the warm cookie was a real incentive - and a lovely touch. I have got to say that I loved the hotel.   If there was an option to give the staff more than a 5 + rating then I would. Thouroughly enjoyed my long weekend here and the staff were remarkably helpful and pleasant. The room was large and bright and decor interesting. Good free wifi - the kitchenette and 2 TVs were an unexpected bonus. (Would love to come back when the strip fire all along the front window of the hotel is alight in the cold weather.)
