We were a family of 3 from Venezuela, and stayed there for a week. We had always thought that it was better to stay in the Istikal area, but we were wrong: the Sultanahmet area is perfect not only because it's close to Hagia Sophia and some museums, but also because it has a lot of good cafes and restaurants, and its nice for walking around, even at night. 所有评语 » The Empress Theodora is an excellent hotel, comfortable, restful, exceptionally easy to reach by public transport from the airport. The closeness to the tramline is a definite advantage as road transport (e.g. by bus or taxi) is a nightmare with constant hold-ups! This is why I ticked 'eco-friendly', you can walk or get the tram or ferry everywhere, etc. The hotel enjoys very close access to many prime tourist sites, and is also really great for business stays. The staff, Ersan and Vural, and . There are three things in this hotel which amazed me: 1) The Location - it is just a few minutes of short distance walk to most attractions in sultanahmet and also the tram. I only need to use the tram when i am going to eminonu and istiklal caddesi. 2) The Working Staff - the receptionists are very friendly and helpful, they even let me use their computer in the front desk for me to do wed check-in for my next flight. A special highlight to a friendly staff named Ersen. 3) The Breakfast - the . Location location location, this hotel is worth every cent for its amazing location you are in the same street as Aya Sofia and less than a 5 min walk away from the Blue Mosque The staff is extremely helpful and nice, they were always willing to help us with any request. One of the reviews I read said that the said that taxi weren't able to leave you at the door of the hotel from the airport, that's true but in our case we called in advance and had. This hotel is situated in the heart of Istanbul. It is 5 minute walk to most historical sights. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave their service is super.The front desk team will help you with directions, restaurants and any special needs.Room and bed linen were clean and fresh. There is a pot in a room with plenty sorts of tea or coffee. Breakfast was wonderful. A lovely selection of cheeses, vegetables and sweets. Special thanks to Vural for Turkish coffee. Perfect location, friendly staff, good breakfast. We changed the room twice, because it was quite cold (in the first room did not close the window, in the second air conditioner did not work.) The hotel didn't respond to my 2 emails about the shuttle bus from the airport, so I rented a $60-charged-car which was far too expensive :(. the room wasn't cleaned during 3 days.
