  I must say we were very impressed with Hostal Las Fuentes. Everything was better than expected: hotel staff, location, cleanliness of the room, quietness, very good value for money.   The best value for the money. During our trip to Spain we stayed at 4 different hotels at the same price range and Hostal Carrera was the best. Excellent location at the very heart of Madrid, walking distance to all major attractions and metro. Very clean. Staff is friendly, helpful and speaks English.   We made a booking for 2 nights and got a good room that was to the inside of building. There were 2 head boards, which showed that the 3rd bed was just makeshift. But we had adequate space and ample light, so I'm not complaining. A no-fuss checkin and checkout. That the bell was answered immediately (whenever we d - This is rather a 3 star hotel not just a hostel - the rooms are small but are really cosy and comfortable; the furniture is new and there is enough place to put all your the baggage; it was extremely clean (we had our room cleaned every day); there`s free wi-fi which is fast; the personal speaks English which is quite an advantage in Spain; location - perfect - 2 mins to Gran Via and not more than 20 mins to Puerta del Sol and at the same time it was not noisy at all.
