We stayed on the upper floor where floor level windows provide you with a stunning view of the hills around Cuenca - though you'll have to lie down to enjoy it. It's located right on the edge of the old town, high up on a rugged ridge: you reach the medieval center walking downhill (couple hundred yards), but save some energy for the return trip. Some free parking is available right in front of the lodge, and lots of it ca. 300 yards away - a walk which offers you the best possible view on old.
所有评语 » Located at the top of the old town with great views over facing the North gorge. Free parking across the street. Good kitche with washing maching. Large room. Owner was very helpful. We did a leaisurely 2 hour walk by starting at the lookout parking area just above the top gate which is just above the apartments and wound down the south gorge area and then across the church plaza and down then the north gorge area to the bottom of town. We walked up but a bus runs often up the hill. Laura at the Alizaque Lodge was one of the most helpful receptionists I have ever encountered. I had made a mistake in booking the wrong date but Laura went out of her way to find a solution (including phoning around the local hotels and even going to some in person!). Brilliant service, and I would definitely return as the lodge is in the perfect, most picturesque part of Cuenca and a great standard of property. Fantastic location high up on a ridge in the old part of town with great views from our second storey windows. Easy walking to restaurants and bars. Large very comfortable and well appointed modern apartment. On arrival we were given a city map and shown great places to visit, even though we only stayed overnight. Definitely need a GPS to find the Lodge but free street parking near by. The facilities are great for those who are not expecting to be in a hotel, but rather in a rented appartment. They have cleaning services everyday upon request, which is good - but you have to agree on a specific time for them to clean the appartment. The view from the appartments and, specially from the one that we stayed, with two different balconies, is amazing and breathtaking!. Perfect location, with plenty of room for our family to spread out and enjoy siesta time. Easy to walk to all the best bits of Cuenca; great restaurants within reach. Apartment had everything required and Laura was very responsive and attentive to any request. Highly recommended!. Huge apartment located in the old part of the town in Cuenca amongst churces,convents and charming narrow streets. Stunning views from the huge terrace over the gorge of Cuenca. Parking is nearby and plenty of spanish restaurants within walking distance. Great reception from Laura - very helpful and good tips on the town and surrounds. An excellent location from which to explore the old city of Cuenca. Both the different walking routes through the town as well as the nature walks in the surrounding gorges. For a visit to the historic centre of Cuenca this is perfect. Both location and view. Free parking nearby a bonus. It was very quiet at night. The appartment has a nice (new) kitchen, though it's stocked with basic equipment and lacks a water boiler and/or coffee maker. Mind your head on the upper floor room(s): the low, chalk white ceiling is hard to notice and angles downward to the windows. Nothing. No great problem though the internet was a little spasmodic but we found this occurred throughout Spain. the only negative point refers to the fact that they don't change the towels every day. Absolutely nothing. A little noisy from plumbing upstairs, but no big deal. Nothing. The historic area in Cuenca requires walking up very steep hills in order to see any of the sights. This was difficult for me. Nothing. Their were a surprising number of sounds in the apartment. Partly it was noise from the neighbours but also continuous peeps and squeals from the air conditioning or the water heating system. We were lucky to find parking very close to the apartments for free, but on busy days that could be a problem. Stairs but only when you have a suitcase to carry up or down. Nothing!. The manager is only available very specific hours for you to pick up keys, so if you arrive outside that time you're mostly out of luck. Our apartment was at the very top of building, so sharply sloped ceiling eliminates a lot of space in bedroom and living room. Fine for 2 people but annoying if you're tall. The check in can be a bit tricky if you don't have access to a phone. Provisions for a cup of tea or coffee would be nice. Parking is up a hill a ways from the property but we were able to load and unload very close. wireless connection is not very stable, only 1st floor living room can recive, but still drop very often. Nothing. The only negative was the parking next to the lodge was a private car park which isn`t clear, so you could possibly get towed if you are not aware of it. nothing. We were a little uncertain about parking. But turned out not to be a problem. floor in the bathroom was not heated. The noise of the bed the all night. The bed has a structure in steel that moves it (yours and the ones of others room near) ........to be removed!!!!!! Comfort with bed very very low!! All other ok.
