I slept well. The hostal offers value for money, it is very central, and the building, an old terraced mansion block, had some character to it. The hotel manager was helpful and friendly, and gave me a great little map & tourist guide of Avila which got me started. The room had a radiator, and overnight the building was quite warm enough.
