Near bars and restaurants. Good parking, easy too find, Real Value for Money and highly recommended. Large, elegant hotel, easy to find and extremely well priced. It also had the best value house wine in Italy!. The hotel staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, educated and ready to help. good value for money, clean and spacious room. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The surrounding area was scenic with very good transport links, buses, trains and the airport.Cleanliness in the hotel was excellent,we saw the carpark being swept of leaves everyday and the hotel lobby was spotlessly clean even when it rained. Breakfast was excellent everyday and was constantly being topped up.Cleanliness, staff, facilities, price. location, staff, good breakfast. Practical if one drives a car. Good location, easy parking, quiet. Nice and quiet awat from city but within easy reach on public transport. The location. San Guiliano Terme is a beautiful village and much nicer to stay in than Pisa. It has a few restaurants, a couple of bars, a gelateria and some shops. It also boasts a health spar. You'd be a 10min bus ride from Pisa which would set you back 1.50, although the bus back only runs till 21.00. Breakfast was ok, although the coffee was burnt. The staff were helpful and friendly.Helpful staff, cheap. price is fair, but everything else is poor. The breakfast was good. No, the hotel had tour groups staying there at the same time as us, but they handled the large numbers very well.minimar in the room (only water for free), we would prefer choice of drinks (alcoholic and soft drinks for a fee). The evening meal on the first day,was not to our expectation.The Restaurant. cleanliness of room could be better. The breakfast. Evening menu was limited. restaurant staff should be a little more reserved. Airconditioner not functioning despite many repeated requests.This is not a 4star hotel, maybe it was in the 70's when they built it, but now I'd say by experience of the air conditioning alone, which they seemed to have unearthed from some dark and distant past, it's a 2 or barely a 3. The bed was so uncomfortable that I had to spend the 2nd night on the floor. What's more, the pool is not open in August. No way a 4 star hotel, no english provisions, channels or pay t.v. Exposed wires in room. Switched rooms, new room had mould in corner of room.dire need of refurb.very old hotel, doesn't worth its stars anymore. not very clean. very uncomfortable bed, 2 singles made into a king!!. The hotel was not 4 star as stated and the room not as pictured - the air conditioning didn't work and staff could not understand English. The location was terrible - it was in the middle of no where and not good for tourists who maybe didn't want to travel far to eat somewhere.

Travelling information

By Car:
- From the A11 Firenze-Mare motorway, head towards Pisa.
- Exit Lucca and take the SS12 towards Pisa, passing through the Il Foro gallery, separating Lucca from Pisa.
- At the end of the gallery, at the feet of the hills after the Shell petrol station, there is a main crossroad.
- Turn right and immediately left to enter the car park of Hotel Granduca. The hotel is situated 8 km from the Lucca exit.

- From the A12 Genova-Livorno motorway, exit Pisa Nord and take the SS1 for South Aurelia (head towards Pisa).
- At the first traffic lights, turn left and follow the directions to Hotel Granduca or San Giuliano Terme.
- After 10 km, on the right side in San Giuliano Terme, you will find Hotel Granduca.

By Public Transport:
You can take the Lazzi bus lines to San Giuliano Terme from Pisa or Lucca.

By Train:
From Pisa, you can take a local train to San Giuliano Terme on the Pisa-Lucca line.

By Plane:
The nearest airports are Galileo Galilei International Airport (Pisa) and Florence Airport (Aeroporto di Firenze).
