I was lucky enough to have a room with a view over the beautiful river Loire, with the bridge illuminated at night and the general beauty of Saumur on display. We booked at the last minute, so we didn't have much of a choice of rooms so, unfortunately, my friend got a room at the back of the hotel - which, although very comfortable, had a far less inspiring view (I would like to say, in my defence, that she lives in France and volunteered to take the short straw, being more able to visit Saumu.
所有评语 » As mentioned in a previous review, we wondered about the stairs problem but don't know what the fuss is about - we are both in our mid-60's and didn't find the stairs at all difficult. Anyway, the very helpful manager insisted with helping with luggage. There is plenty of public parking at very little cost immediately outside the hotel and the location is ideal for exploring the centre of Saumur on foot. The food in the hotel is perfectly adequate - as in any Logis - and there are plenty of . We really enjoyed our stay here, the staff were very friendly, warm and helpful, the hotel was clean and the breakfasts were good also. Location wise it was perfect and situated near the town centre near the river. Very good value for money. Very friendly and helpful staff and a good restaurant which we were lucky enough to sit outside of on a night in October. Very good location. If you want an original old hotel right in the centre this is the one to go for. A lovely quirky hotel in a fantastic position close to all the points of interest.The restaurant was reasonable and the food was delicious.Very friendly ,courteous and helpful staff. Wish I'd read the previous review about the hairdryer as I expected one in the room and was disapointed. There isn't a lift but that added to the character. Climbing sixty stairs to our room! We shall stay there again, but ask for a bedroom on a lower floor. Stairs a little challenging to the second floor with luggage. No lift for elderly people. Not enough drawer space for clothes in the room. No air con, early morning noise. The original room was 50 + steps up a fairly tight spiral staicase. Room was pleasant but 'Loire view' was limited (out of a high small window). An alternative was offered but only at a supplement. Tight staircases and no lift.... beds incredibly hard and noise from electrical equipment through the night. Bathroom very small but just adequate. bedroom on 3 floor and no lift. also no in main building.
