  It suited our needs as a family of 4 travelling with a dog. Modern, clean 2 bedroom house. The children were able to use the pool / tennis in a safe environment. A 10 minute walk into the lovely town with good restaurants, café and castle etc. Paths immediately next to the complex for dog walking.   on arrival the manager spoke to us in very good English and was fantastic, very friendly and made us feel extremely welcome. The room and facilities were excellent, as was the weather. There are shops and fuel stations near by and some beautiful countryside within 2 minutes drive - Room a bit small but weell arranged, almost brand new.   Hotel Grand Monarque could not be better situated if you want to visit the chateau at Azay-le-Rideau. It's right at the heart of a beautiful town, but the cool courtyard and strong walls create a perfect haven. If yo - The location is very central. The hotel room was very quiet, with a tranquil view. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom nicely fitted. The hosts were pleasant and helpful, and responded to my requests very effectively. The public parking was just across the street.

  Well situated in the town centre near the Chateau. Good value for money. - Booked a family room - they didn't have our booking - but they accommodated us in 2 separate rooms for the same price.

  This is a very special place. Sleeping in a well-appointed cave was unusual, charming, comfortable and (welcome during a heatwave) cool. Beautiful bijou-garden setting, with interior design reflecting artistic flair of Alain, the very obliging and helpful host, who also served a superb breakfast. Apparently he is planning to install a lift within the next - This place is amazing - the rooms are luxurious (we especially loved the Victoria room, with its massive bathroom and shower), Alain is the most genial and interesting host. Breakfast is full of homemade treats - and good coffee! This is essentially a family home/estate which has been lovingly restored. The area and the town of Azay-le-Rideau are very beautiful, and convenient for visting wine producers too.

  Excellent host who did everything to make our stay wonderful, including booking the next hotel for us when we couldn't book this online and the owner only spoke French. The breakfast was exceptional. The location was right in the middle of the small town and we would highly recommend it. - The host clearly takes great pride in what he does.
