Hotel Grand Monarque could not be better situated if you want to visit the chateau at Azay-le-Rideau. It's right at the heart of a beautiful town, but the cool courtyard and strong walls create a perfect haven. We stopped off, with children aged 14, 12 and 9, as a midway break on a drive to the Pyrenees. The owner and his team could not have been more helpful and even though the rooms are full of antique furniture there is nothing stuffy about the hotel which welcomed the children warmly. If yo.
所有评语 » The location is very central. The hotel room was very quiet, with a tranquil view. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom nicely fitted. The hosts were pleasant and helpful, and responded to my requests very effectively. The public parking was just across the street. The staff were wonderful; the beds & pillows were comfortable; the bathroom was completely refurbished and modern - great shower; after the bar closed at 10pm, it was really quiet. Breakfast was great and reasonably priced. Very resonable car parking fee. The hotel's staff were helpful. The rustic design was very nice and the price was very reasonable. I recommend this hotel to all travelers to Azay le Rideauxi Hotel is about 200 meters away from the main entrance to the Chateau. We booked a double and triple room - clean, comfortable and spacious. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Very short walk to the chateau. Would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers. Location in the centre of a beautiful town. SHort walk to chateau. Hotel has the feel of an historic location and is set in a beautiful little village in the Loire Valley close to famous Chateau. The staff were friendly and helpful. The owner of this hotel was very pleasant and very informative abt the history of this old building. We paid extra for an upgrade and had a lovely spacious room. This place is exceptional. Everyone who works there treats you like you are a guest in their home. I stayed in 7 places while in France and this was the best. The atmosphere of the little town and the hotel itself. The staff allowed me to speak French to them even though they spoke much better English. Situation, in a small, interesting town, and has secure parking. I have ticked Countryside, but the hotel is well-placed in the centre of town. This hotel is a real GEM which I highly recommend as a base for anyone visiting the Loire valley and the Chateaux. Our only disappointing breakfast during a whole week's touring in France comprising the usual dull international fare which is served in business hotels all around the world, rather than what the French do best: local breads, pastries, meats and cheeses, really fresh fruit (rather than tired-looking fruit salad) and fresh coffee (does any guest ever enjoy stewed filter coffee after half an hour on the hotplate?). A real shame since it's the final impression of the hotel just before one leaves. There's not elevator, so carrying the baggages until the last floor can be a little bit disapointing... but the view and the room worth it. The town itself, other than the tourist info lady were not friendly and on occasion rude. We did not particularly like the town or what it offered. The power of the blow dryers were weak. Nothing, a fantastic stay. An elevator could spare the staff the upstairs-downstairs luggage dragging. No lift, no bath. The lights in the bathroom, too bright and too hot. Swap them for eco bulbs!. The spider on the wall. Not being able to have dinner as all places had been reserved. Menu choices were limited. Nothing.
