  Rovinj is a lovely town - we enjoyed walking around and seeing all the wonderful art. The hotel was comfortable and all the staff helpful and friendly.   The hotel is obviously old (as almost any hotel in Opatija) but I liked the way they tried to keep it clean and pleasant for tourists. The rooms are big enough, staff really friendly.   Our stay started with an extremely warm welcome from Branco and his lovely niece Marina. The apartment itself was very comfortable and well appointed. We had in read previous posts that the room could be cold in cooler months. We visited in October with fairly cool temperatures and were completely comfortable. A small castle like building on the top of a hill with a small settlement surrounding it. Awesome! We had a nice room, it was a little dark, but not a problem, open the doors and windows. The settlement of Groznjan was fun to be in and walk around. Not a long drive to the Sea and other surrounding villages. Highly recommended to go off the beaten track and stay here.
