This is a private members-only club that rents out rooms at their beautifully preserved historic building located perfectly at the centre of all the sights. Breakfast from the menu was delicious, and the complimentary coffee (and teabags too) always available in the foyer was excellent. Fitness center was very clean and updated. The place has an enormous reading room great for curling up with a book or magazine.
所有评语 » Our experience at the Union Club was nothing but positive, the rooms were small but comfortable and the service in the restuarant was excellent as was the food. Awesome price for downtown Victoria and included breakfast that you could order off the menu not a continental style. The waiter was suburb. Would definitly stay again, also the no cell phones in the common area was very refreshing to say the least. Loved everything about the Union Club. Classy, elegant, refined, but not stuffy. Wonderful breakfast each morning in elegant dining room. Cute room with comfortable bed and furnishings and goo-size bath. Central= location just off the harbor and next door to the Empress Hotel. Will definitely stay here again!. We have an active toddler who loved the antique elevator, and the spacious suite was quiet, had room for his cot, and a superb view of the harbour. Breakfasts were fantastic. Bed and chairs firm and comfortable, everything quiet (except for our child running up and down), and the staff friendly and helpful. They have absolutely unique facilities such as the reading room and the billiards room. The dining room staff are fabulous. Bed & (serious) breakfast -- who can beat that? Since it is a Club, thee is a graceful calm throughout the place. The hotel was very well kept and clean. The hot breakfast which was included was excellent and would be described as gourmet. The hotel is in the heart of many things to do in the city and right by the ferry and boat channel/inlet. I enjoyed the history of your hotel, although the building was built way more than a century ago - but managed to keep up and have maintained in such an excellent state. Front desk people are friendly, place is very clean. The fairly quiet and yet central location to downtown; the richness of the surroundings and staff were very, very helpful. Also, the lemon pancakes for breakfast were incredibly rich and in a word - divine!. The value for your travel dollar was terrific. The Inn at the Union Club is comparable in service and quality to the Fairmont Empress Hotel (which is right across the street) at a fraction of the price. Excellent location and room. But the best was the staff -- in reception and in the dining room. I have already recommended this hotel to a friend and I will stay there again when in Victoria. It was an excellent venue - a reciprocal Club to The Oxford & Cambridge Club in London (also other london Clubs). Emphasis on great dining, elegant, classy to be highly recommended. The free breakfast was good, with a good selection menu. Staff was very friendly. Location was perfect (next to Fairmont Empress amd at the core of the city centre). The hotel was wonderful! Elegant, comfortable, helpful staff, fine meals. It would have been all those things at four times the price. Dining room, reading room and library are outstanding. Breakfast(included) was excellent. Ambience of the Club was greatly enjoyed. Location was perfect. Location Room facing the harbour. I LOVED the reading room. all 0k. Wifi was a bit spotty from our room. Rooms were clean though a bit musty. We were assigned a room with two single twin beds though it was not indicated on letsbookhotel.com when I made the booking expecting a double, so it might be helpful to call and confirm what type of room you're getting (this could've been a letsbookhotel.com issue, since it seems there was a bit of trouble with my reservation). The bar is always closed by 11. This is a club in which members come to. The hotel portion was an add on to supplement the financial abilities of the club. To enter the club areas men must have a dress jacket , collared shirt and proper dress shoes. Woman dressed in proper business attire. Room size was adequate. None. Bath was not what I would call hot although the shower temperature was OK. Weird odour in the hallway of the 1st floor (where my room was). Nothing I disliked. Nothing. Rooms are a little tired!. Up steps from street, which required baggage hoist. Hauling luggage up the steps,but it was good for us!. Charged more for twin beds, over queen. Wifi speed and accessibility in dining and lounge area sub- par. Needs improvement. Need to do a little repair in bathroom (peeling paint). Having to dress for breakfast (no jeans policy), our room didn't have a view which would have been nice. The dinning room should have been located where the "lounge" is so a view and the natural sun can be appreciated. Please note this is a past "Gentleman's Club", so do have some dress codes but a great place to stay. Very Small Bathroom,. Nothing. Internet temporarily lousy -- provider fault, not the club. Room facing the interior.
