  the staff were very friendly and ALWAYS said aloha every time they passed. The pool and gym were wonderful and we used them every day. I liked having the Kings and Queens market close by as we had a choice of eating establishments. the beach was protected and great for water sports. Down the beach was the Lava Lava Bar - we ate their quite a few... vad folk säger » times and had drinks at sunset. Thanks to John and NIck there for a wonderful part of our stay. - The beach was very nice. Our room would have been perfect if we'd had a full ocean view instead of a partial because of a tree. The gym is nice and clean. The concierge was helpful but be warned, it is run by Expedia so no Kama'aina rates. The nearby markets were convenient and a good option if you don't want to eat at the hotel. Several good restaurants as well as a food court are available.

  Very friendly and accomodating staff, beautiful spacious room with private bath, wonderful breakfast. A fantastic view of miles of coastline in both directions from the covered deck. Our children visited on the lanai and cracked fresh macadamia nuts. In the morning we drank rich Kona coffee, from the local landscape and delighted in sharing adventures and insiders knowledge over a perfect breakfast. Easy location to beaches, restaraunts, and sunny Kona weather. Kurt's family home surpasses any destination hotel or resort. We longed for it after moving on to other parts of the island. 5 stars.,

  Forget the reviews about how it takes a long time to get anywhere - plot courses of shortest distances on the map they give you and only use tram / boat for novelty. Awesome bridges and islands around lagoon tend to be shortest route(s). Staff and service best I've ever seen. They all live in Hawaii - they're happy! It really is quite impressive. Lots of things to do. You really don't ever even have to leave the resort. But if you want to one of my favorite beaches Hapuna is right up the road. I also really liked the products they had in their bathroom so much so I bought some to take home with me.

  It's an older resort but that is not a problem at all. Fabulous resort facilities, very clean and comfortable room (partial ocean view) with great service. You can't swim in the ocean directly from the hotel but it is such a dramatic location as the resort is positioned directly on lava rock. Views of the ocean are stunning. A hire car is a good idea. - Beautiful location, spent the most of my time at the resort because it was so beautiful and relaxing. Amazing pool to sit back with a Mai Tai and watch the sunset. Watched the manta rays feeding and ate delicious 'spider shrimp' at Rays on the Bay. Would definitely recommend to others and would stay there again myself

  The staff was really helpful when the door keys they gave us did not work and sent up someone who had to go and get special equipment to clear out the lock so it would take the key. This was just a I have just got off the airplane late at night and am leaving for elsewhere the next morning destination so we did not look to see anything in the area... vad folk säger » . - Lovely location, with both pool and beach. Lots of shopping, and food variety within easy walking distance. Extreemly friendly staff. Accomodated us well the last day, with parking and beach towels, as our plane was very late to leave.

  Uncle Billy's has character! Lovely central garden and great view of it and the bay from the breakfast area. I love the papayas at breakfast time. Very pretty lounge.   The location cannot be beat close to the beaches market and shops. It was like living in a botanical garden beautiful plants flowers and amazing pool. Walking down the pathway from the lobby to the beach was like walking thru a sweet little jungle ... I loved it! The Kona Islander Inn is like a gem in the middle of town.   Absolutely beautiful house - never seen anything like that for rent - it's been designed, built and decorated for a personal use, with great taste and stylish details. Great location - only a few minutes to volcano visitors center, 40 min drive from Hilo airport. Tropical rainforest with orchids starts right in the backyard! Loved the peaceful area and forest that makes you feel like you are miles away from your neighbors, the house was beautifully designed and cozy, enjoyed the fireplace, hot tub and full kitchen.
