It was clear that the hotel was being upgraded and we were happy that our rooms were those already completed. The furnishings were new, carpet and bedding was new, and the rooms were very clean. We did not book directly through Best Western so when we arrived, we
discovered our room did not have a balcony but a patio instead. Told the
management of our displeasure and they moved us to the 3rd floor the
next day. We appreciated the accomodation. Once moved, we were very

We would definitely stay here again. Was so clean and comfortable, that it felt like home. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for shopping, eating, and catching the ferry to Mackinack Island.

Clarion has the best pillows ever and plenty of them. Each bed came with 4 pillows on them, plenty for people who like extra. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Absolutely no complaints regarding the cleanliness of the rooms. I felt very comfortable and clean. Overall, the Clarion is a great value for the money. -

We had to stay over in Detroit because of the weather and arrived late.The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed an exellent breakfast buffet with an omelet station. This is a very pleasant hotel. -
The bed was very comfortable. I have a bad back and rarely get a good night's sleep, but I slept better than I do at home.

We liked nearly everything about Mackinaw Beach and Bay Resort. A morning breakfast is provided, and it's good, but it needs a little variety. We appreciate "pet friendly" hotels that also are neat and clean, Too many times the quality suffers because you love your housebroken pet. Howard Johnsons didn't make us feel that we should have a shabby room as punishment. The dog walk areas was also nice.
