  This motel is in a good location at the east end of the main street through town - close to shopping, dining and Mesa Verde National Park. The free continental breakfast was better than I expected for a motel in this price range. They offered fresh fruit, juice, coffee & tea and a good assortment of bread, bagels and waffles for toasting. They... vad folk säger » also had several kinds of cereal available for the kids. The breakfast room was small but cute and very clean with an attentive front desk clerk keep - The room was very clean and they allowed pets. The rooms were back off the highway, whereas other motel/hotels in this area were not. The benches outside the rooms and table and chairs on the grassy area outside were a nice plus in the evening.

  The motel has been recently upgraded by new owners. The beds and 100% cotton linens were fantastic. Each room has a little different decor. It is as if the travelers needs were thought of first: 4 bed pillows; layers of bed covers; plates, silverware, corkscrew, toaster, kitchen towels and glassware for the micro/fridge area, lots of fluffy towels... vad folk säger » ; wi-fi, and flat screen. Staff and owner were attentive and friendly . Great to be away from the chains. Stayed 3 nites and did not need regular maid - Great Staff, The owner bent over backwards to ensure we were comfortable. The price is a great value. Hotel is from 1947 so don't expect modern baths etc. tho Wi-Fi was good, expect the charm of a well maintained hotel from an era long past. Great stay, will stay again

  Courtesy of the staff to care for our needs. We needed a room for handicapped and they went out if their way to accommodate our needs - The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and attended to daily. The motel is close to the airport.

  I read some of the reviews here before booking, some great, some not so great, but the price was the best in town, so I figured heck, I'll give it a try. For my stay, The best part of this hotel is the owners hospitality. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. He immediately closed the room, called the front desk and told t - When I pulled in the driveway, the big sign out front read "Real Furniture", Free WiFi, Flat Screen Tvs, etc. I wondered what was meant by Real Furniture? What a pleasant surprise when I went I went to my room and found furniture that one might find in a bedroom at home. Not the usual drab, cheap, hotel furniture in most hotels. The last time I was in Salida I stayed at a nearby hotel that literally has 2 x 8 boards attached to the walls & covered with wood grain contact paper. Yuk. Anyway,
