You can walk to the piers from this hotel, its .8 miles away so not bad
at all. I suggest parking in the lot across the street from this hotel,
its $27 a day as opposed to $50 for Hilton parking (although it isnt the
prettiest). -

Out of context the rate seems a little bit expensive... But we compared
with so many other hotels in the area, and I really think this was the
best hotel for this price range! The location was amazing - north beach
on one side and chinatown on the other; walking distance to
fisherman's wharf... We really felt like we were in the heart of the
city.

I did like they offered breakfast which other hotels in the area
didn'T. Breakfast was simple: cereals, breads, juices, boiled eggs.
The price was good compared to others in the area. I liked the location,
I wouldn't normally stay in "china town" but I enjoyed the
experience. One street over is North Beach, which isn't a
"beach". More appropriate name should be "little
italy"; very good italian restaurants. I would stay here again if
the prices stayed the way they were.

This hotel was in Chinatown and near to the city centre. We could walk to Fisherman's wharf as well as to the businesss district, and also the cosy street with Italian & other restaurants & bars was in walking distance. the room was very spacious. we got a room with balcony that face the main road.
it was clean, decent and really good enough for a comfortable night sleep.
there are shops avail just opposite the hotel which makes it really convenient to get your necessities.
hotel staff was friendly, free parking and am satisfied.

Our hotel was in a perfect location and it suited our needs very well.We were able to enjoy the city just by walking out the front door -Chinatown's gates were about ten steps away - and it was convenientlylocated near public transportation, both into the city from the airportand throughout the neighborhoods. Great designed and very original hotel with some different conceptual work inside. The room area was large enough. I loved the writings on the walls, the towels, and the lightning of the room.Ther e is even ironing table inside the room, very practical. Hotel location is very central. The stafff were proffessional and helpful. A remarkable place to stay again.

Beautiful hotel in the best location. The rooms are very clean and the staff is amazing. The hotel is located by really nice cafes and great restaurants, although I would stay away from the Italian restaurant right next door. Bad service and not very good. On the other hand, the cafe/bakery on the other side of the entrance is really good. -

The location of the Baldwin Hotel is just great - literally steps from Chinatown's main gate and only one block from Union Square and public transportation.
