  Clean, very comfy bed. Cozy little room. Next to shops and eating places. Short bus ride or 10 to 15 min walk to Hollywood Bvld. Friendly, helpful staff. Reasonably priced.   Located in Central la on Melrose which is a busy street but less than fi Hollywood Blvd or Highland or any of the big thoroughfares and keeping in mind that it's an old hotel, they're taking good care of it.   While this hotel did not have the highest of star ratings by the industry, reviews from other travelers convinced me this was a place worth trying and I was not disappointed. Neighbourhood was safe, there is a nice park and library just down the road and a seven elev - Good basic tourist hotel. Provided you are driving, very central to the whole LA area. A short walk to the trendy Grove shopping mall and the Farmers Market with its range of excellent, well priced mini restaurants. Easy on site parking and helpful friendly staff. Good size rooms and good value for money. This was our second stay and would stay there again.
