The daily maid service was impeccable and the staff were all very pleasant. The wi-fi worked well and was free though not quite fast enough to take large downloads like movie files well. An excellent value for the money in a very convenient location just 10-15 minutes walk to Union Square at a fraction of the price.

  Huge surprise...located off of Union Square in what used to be a very downtrodden area...a little jewel in the middle of Powell Street. Fantastic restaurant shares the beautiful lobby. They even suggested that we might want to change our room because they were afraid that being on a lower floor we'd be bothered by the noise of the street! Then they checked on us to make sure we were not bothered by the noise at all. When I needed assistance with my computer, they helped immediately and they printed out what I needed at the front desk free of charge. Everyone was SO nice. Th

  I absolutely LOVED everything! It was beautiful from the moment I first saw it, before I even walked inside. It was so easy to get to from BART and in a perfect location. The entire staff was sincerely friendly, kind, helpful and seemed to only know how to say "Yes, of course we can".   We had a wonderful stay with our family- the rooms are bit cramp, but we knew this. We wanted to stay near union square and that we did. We were able to really enjoy everything in walking distance. We would return again.   Hotel had a more personable feeling about it - some of the larger hotels are so impersonal. Staff were extremely friendly and greeted you upon arrival and departure. Staff were very responsive. The location is extremely good - quiet and within walking distance to many of the tourist sites.   The staff was friendly and helpful. The room, while rather small, was clean and neat. The bathroom, while very small (I've had larger bathrooms on cruise ships), was also clean, neat and stocked with sufficient towels and basic amenities. Fortunately, the bed was very comfortable.
