My husband and I always stay at Victorian Inn when we are in Athens. While it may not be the newest and most luxurious hotel, the rooms are always clean and the couple who run the hotel very accommodating. They have also been working hard over the past several months to update the rooms. I like this place. Rooms have been updated with flat screen TV's new carpet and bed was comfortable. Had a refrigerator coffee pot and microwave. Customer service was great! Spent two nights for the cost of one at the other hotels and it was just as nice and clean.
alla recensioner » This is a beyond reasonably priced hotel. It is clean, has some updates, and is conveniently located. I would definitely stay here again. Very cost effective. New flat screen televisions. High speed internet. It's not luxury but for $50 it's a great deal. I really enjoyed this hotel. The room was very clean and the staff was very nice. Would stay here agian. Undergoing renovations but they made great effort to make sure we were taken care of. It was very clean & rates were reasonable. Friendly staff room was clean value priced. Room was clean. The price. Which they would have had a pool, but we were so busy during the day we would have not had time anyways. Be sure to bring your own hair dryer. The hotel does not provide one in the room like most travelers have been accustomed to expecting. Well to be honest the breakfast wasn't what I expected, but it was still fine. Really the only thing I can complain about is while my boyfriend was asleep and I was laying down watching tv some random mexican guy unlocked the door and opened it. I don't know if he was a worker there or not, but it was really creepy. He just looked at me and slowly backed out of the room. Need to work on electrical hook-ups for TV, cable. there wasn't enough coffee or sugar & cream for even the one cup of coffe... though that was a minor thing, as we went to breakfast early. room needs to upgrade towels. tv and phones need upgrading. no plug in by bedside for phone. plugin by tv needs main light turned on to work. No hair dryer in rooms, limited breakfast. The beds were hard in our double room,The breakfast area only contained two table which our group filled up and some of us had to stand,The toilet wabbled when used,some of the outlets didn't work when I tried to charge my phone and breakfast was supposed to start at 7:00 and at 7:15 they opened the doors to let us in. The air conditioning had not been turned on and the room took a long time to cool off adequately to be comfortable. In 100+ Texas temperatures it would behoove the locations to keep the reserved rooms at a moderate temperature for the comfort and satisfaction of their confirmed guests. Bugs, Bugs, Bugs! Taxes of 15% more than the price of one night stay, I felt was a little much. Sheets & towels seem clean, room was cleaned good every day, but the mattress need replacing, ice machine and area around it needs cleaning. Bugs were generally on the floor but I did get a couple in the bed with me, I think they crawled up the comforter. But it was what I could afford for a week. small - needed work - recliner broke could hear everything going on in rooms on both sides. They started painting with an fairly loud sprayer at around 8 am on a Saturday. we had no cable TV in the room. There was a cord by light by the bed had black tape and gave a shock.No coffee or breakfast. service desk only said hello when i called to report tv problem. Staff is extremely rude Staff does not work well with patrons needed iron staff had problem with getting one for us. My paperwork stated 15% tax charged 19%. The scontinental breakfast the food was stale or old (banana was brown on breakfast). The rooms was not clean wash rags hanging in shower used, drug needles in drawers with phone book, had to unplug things to use microwave then plug other things back in. They charged more than letsbookhotel.com contract The room had roaches in it And was supposed to get non smoking room got smoking The room was supposed to be for 4 people and there was only one bed which was fine. Pretty run down, no door on bathroom - it was broken. Furniture was a mix from a garage sell. Could not wait to leave.
