Have been staying at the Puffin for years. It's always a good place to stay. The staff there is exceptional.The general manager has been there for years, is a good leader, and also drives the shuttle! Several people employed at the same company where I work (Red Dog Mine) also stay at Puffin. I really liked the friendly young lady that worked the counters during the day. She was attractive, friendly and helpful. Close proximity to the airport was also nice. My son enjoyed being able to use the computer to play Minecraft...
alla recensioner » All the staff were pleasant and very helpful. We stayed a week due to medical appointments. Enjoyed the morning breakfast and paper. Appreciated having wi-fi in the room and cable tv since we spent 80% of the time at the hotel. I called the hotel when my flight came in, they came within a few minutes. The drive do not remember his name took my bages into the hotel. The front desk person again no name had a great accent, very nice. Thank you. This is where I always stayed on my way to work up North on the Slope. Staff especially Housekeepers are friendly, polite and helpful. They do work very hard to keep things very clean and comfortable. Close to airport. Free Shuttle. Very Clean. Priced Right. Friendly. Decent continental Breakfast Served early enough to catch early morning flights. I like the friendly staff that works there. I like the location when I am on stop overs on my trips. They provide freezer/cooler place for guests. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Location great for just about anything you want to do in and around Anchorage. It's a convinient place, if you only need to stay overnight in Anchorage between your flights, as it is close to the airport. The "Big Puffin" who joined us for continental breakfast in the lobby was a surprise and big hit with kids having breakfast. friendly , helpful staff. comfortable, clean rooms, close to the airport and near mid-town. a distance from an airport, free shuttle bus, comp in a lounge and wi - fi, of course. I did somewhat told her to be polite. Which she did after realizing what had happen. My point here is : Be calm when dealing with high pace of work. Result will be much better. Thank you. The breakfast is very basic. Internet connection was unstable at times. Nothing interesting in the nearby area. The heat wasn't working in our room, but we were quickly supplied with a space heater that did the job. The room was over heated. Internet went down during stay. The unit could use some upgrade. Nothing. Just used it to sleep before flying outside. that I was in a building almost a block away with luggage that I had to manage in the morning by myself. I asked an attendant to help me and she would have, but was distracted by some other concerns.Staff were helpful but location within the Inn was difficult to maneuver and might be in the winter. There was no protein at breakfast. We were not told of a scam that was currently happening and received a call late night that was frightening and kept us up. would like more food options within walking distance. Ashtrays for smokers bolted outside doors. Strong smoke odour although a non smoking area was requested. No utensils for use in kitchenette , only polystyrene cups, unsuitable to use in microwave. small room but adequate, we were in the older part of inn. the fitness center did not open until 8 am, long after i was up and getting ready for my airplane ride. The only reason i choose the hotel was because it advertized that it had a fitness center, and i needed some exercise between my long flights. Very slow checking in, Had line of people behind us and ahead of us. My husband slipped and fell in the bathtub because there was not mate or skid strips. When he hurt himself, I asked for a room inside on the 1st floor. They said they could move us, but the room would cost more. Under the circumstances, I do not think they should have charged us more if any. Room AC was too small for room and noisy. Front door lobby door was blocked by hotel shuttle bus. Could not use to unload baggage. Unprofessional. We stayed in the Chandler Inn. Our stay would have been much nicer in the building with the lobby. We made our reservations 6+ months ago based on the info we read on the internet. Our room was nothing like that, too noisy and seemed outdated. Also carrying our luggage down the block was very inconvenient. Room to nosiey People next door to loud. Call front desk every night. I had stay here before.this time I had a room out side up stairs that we could not even find.raining out could not get our bags to the room.Will never stay there again. We stayed in the pink chalet building. The beds were very uncomfortable. Room was very dated and noisy next to the highway and airport. Misrepresentation on web site. I was advised upon my arrival that the hotel no longer allowed extended parking. Desk clerks only suggestion was to pay and park at airport. So I went next door to the Executive Suites and they were more than happy to let me leave a vehicle so I booked my room with them for my return. I have absolutely no good reason to ever stay at the Puffin Inn again. Had a TV but no remote, had a coffee maker but no coffee, also had no soap for a shower.
