Fantastic little family owned B&B where the beds were out of this world! Very comfortable, we had such a hard time getting out of bed we missed the breakfast in the morning. The room was immaculate and overall the B&B was very clean. So clean that we make ourselves go up the upstairs to our room without taking our shoes off, out of curtesy and afraid to make a mess because it was so clean! Definitely recommend this place. In our opinion this was the best guest house we have stayed in. Our room was very comfortable spacious and clean and the towels were changed everyday. There was a fridge on our landing and the owner Sheila put fresh milk in there in case we didn't like the milk in our room (Have never stayed anywhere else that did that). Mike, Sheilas husband cook

Michael and Sheila were very friendly and down-to-earth. We were made to feed very welcome and everything was to a good standard and very clean. The breakfast was very good too. Whitby itself has everything you could wish for from a friendly seaside town (British weather permitting of course) and it is particularly dog-friendly. There are lots of food outlets to suit every budget. Shopping is excellent. Will definitely be going to Whitby again!

After a friendly welcome we were shown to our room which was large , immaculately clean, tastefully decorated & comfortable .The location was good , just a short walk into the center of Whitby. The White House Hotel was a very nice surprise for us and we certainly can recommend this hotel to fellow travellers. We were in the annex room 19 which was handy for us with parking and if door open a view to golf course and the cliffs. Breakfast was especially nice with the services of Kristy & Cystral and their humorous remarks to us Aussies. A beautiful walk into Whitby along the cliff top or you can go along by the esplanade. We had dinner at the hotel on one night and we can't praise

Everyone at the hotel is extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms and public aeas are spotlessly clean and comfortable.We decided to have dinner on the first night and it was so delicious we had it every other day too! (we stayed for 3 nights). The Saxonville has a slightly old fashioned feel to it, and none the worse for that. There was plenty of public space. The service was excellent. It is a bit out of town, but this is not a problem if you can walk half a mile, as the town centre, in season, is heaving. A relaxing place for a comfortable break. We only had one dinner in, but it was great value.
