Offering bed and breakfast rooms with sea views, Swallows Rest is set in 34 acres of Dorset countryside on the Jurassic Coastline. There is free WiFi and free parking on site, and a large guest lounge with a fireplace and log fire.
Guests have access to the summerhouse, the lake, the gardens, and the fields leading down to the sea. There is also a campsite which is open all year. At the farm there are alpacas, a Cavalier King Charles dog, Shetland ponies, horses, sheep, rare-breed chickens, bantams, ducks, geese and pet pigs that wander in the gardens.
The guest rooms at Swallows Rest have a flat-screen TV, and facilities for making tea and coffee. Chocolates and home-cooked cakes are served daily.
Weymouth beach is 2 miles away, and there is a secluded beach at Fleet Saltwater Estuary, a few minutes’ walk along a footpath leading from the farmhouse.

Everything! When we arrived the room was ready 2 hours early. Jane had mades us a cake as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We had our 2 dogs with us and we always felt that they were welcome and not a problem. The views were amazing, all their animals were friendly-even had a little stroke of Mildred! In the evening we got take away and sat in their summer house to eat it, they then washed up all our dishes-not expected! Breakfast on Sunday morning was amazing, the Buck's Fizz was a. alla recensioner »
All the little extra touches made the stay all the better. We arrived
and were given tea/coffee and cakes in the lounge. There were 2
small cakes left in our room everyday. The refreshment area in the room
was really well supplied, and there was a jug of fresh drinking water.
All cups, glasses, and jugs were not just rinsed out daily, they were
replaced with new ones. In the room, and also in the dining room, was a
huge collection of books. It was a freezing cold Easter, and had been
raining ve.
The quality and quantity of the English breakfasts were excellent. The owners, Keith and Jane are lovely people and very helpful and kind. Our room was very clean and the view was beautiful. The air was fresh and invigorating and I really loved petting and communing with the various farm animals. Jane's compotes and breakfast breads were delicious. I especially enjoyed her pink grapefruit and mint combo every morning. Outside, I appreciated the candor and interesting facts about the farm animal.
Absolutely delightful family run Farmhouse B&B with fresh and
locally sourced produce. Jane, Keith and their staff made us very
welcome and Jane's lovely home baked cakes are in abundance. If you
love animals it is so nice to see ducks, chickens and their two pet pigs
George & Mildred who also come to introduce themselves. For sailing
and windsurfing enthusiasts, The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing
Academy is just a few minutes drive down the Portland road and
windsurfing tuition.
It is a lovely place and the owners made our few days away very pleasant. We were welcomed into their home like friends, even sharing their lounge with them. We were given afternoon tea and cake when we arrived and everyday there was cake left in our room for us. The breakfasts were out of this world, they took us through to lunchtime no problem. Always a cooked meal plus fruit, honey, marmalade, cereals, everything you could think of and the complimentary tray in the room had jars of real .
Wonderful stay, Keith and Jane are very friendly. We were welcomed on arrival with tea/coffee and homemade cakes. Every day there were more cakes left in our room to enjoy with a hot drink. The room we stayed in was lovely, we did not have a ensuite but did have a very large private bathroom( we did know this when we booked so it was not a problem)It was lovely seeing the animals and we watched the baby alpacas being shorn. It was a short walk to the coastal path.
The owners are as kind and welcoming as can be. The home is beautiful
and very well kept. Each room has a name and its own style, with all the
comforts you can hope for. The garden is awesome and full of lovely farm
animals. This property is located in a blissful environment of peace and
beauty. Breakfast is exceeding all expectations. The price is very high
considering it is in the country, but to be honest they deserve a four
star rating :).
Really comfortable stay, felt relaxed travelling on my own and staying in a b and b really for the first time. I could walk straight down to the path, animals guiding my way. Wonderful food, come and go as you please, have space or company in the great facilities downstairs. Plenty of places to drive and walk to. Dog friendly to, the dog might be lucky enough to go next time! Lovely people, jane does fabulous baking, great all around really.
The hosts were extremely receptive and helped us with settling in. A very warm and friendly home with bags of character. Although we didn't have time to explore it the accommodation boasts plentiful amounts of farm life and coastline views. Great for couples and families as the hosts made you feel like you were at home. The breakfast is award winning and rightly so. Hats off to Jane and Keith. 10/10.
The easy access to footpaths for countryside walking as we had our dog with us meant we didn't need the car and could walk the dog easily last thing at night and early morning plus the dog was made very welcome.
We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and wonderful breakfast. Also impressed with the room service and daily change of towels.
Jane's cakes were especially welcome after a long day walking!.
It was the best experience we had in England, NO, anywhere we travelled outside Australia. Hospitality second to none. The assistance given to us and the facilities were brilliant. As a disabled person I was made welcome, felt very comfortable, and it was accessible. The Breakfast, as was the whole experience, First Class. Five Star + without a doubt. I would recommend it to Royalty.
The attention to detail was remarkable. Jane has a magic touch that she applies to everything she does. From the fruit bowls at breakfast to the towel sets for the bathrooms everything is done with extraordinary care and attention. Swallows Rest must rate as one of the finest B&Bs in the country. No wonder Vogue has suggested it as a wedding venue!.
The atmosphere of the whole place was excellent with the breakfast superb. Perfect position to walk and explore and close to public transport if required. The owners are so friendly and looking to expand. Even more people can enjoy the experience. Looking forward to a return visit.
Friendly, and the staff, Jane and Keith work well to keep the farm and
its amenities going. Nothing was to much trouble. Out of a score of 10
they get 10 (plus 25 more )out of ten!! Well done plus.(35 Out of 10) We
were very impressed.
The whole experience from arrival to departure was 100% +. The owners
are very, very customer focussed and really made sure we enjoyed our
stay. The accomodation was organised and manged to make one feel as
if at home.
The location of the property is ideal, with a country feel, although, close to the sea.
Made to feel very welcome at all times.
Very good breakfast (fresh produce)
Comfortable room with everything you would need.
Warm welcome excellent facilities ,excellent home cooked breakfasrpt and
greeting with Tea and homemade cakes ideally situated with sea and
country surround but also ideal location for connecting ferries.
Wonderful welcome from Jane and Keith. Nothing was too much trouble and the facilities were excellent. As for the breakfast . . . The whole Swallows Rest experience will be a hard act to follow!.
Quiet location, very friendly welcome with coffee and cake on arrival.
Excellent breakfast with a wide choice to choose from. Free roaming
animals including pigs, alpacas, ducks and chickens.
The facilities were first class and the owner was very helpful and friendly. The food and extras provided were of the highest quality; this really is a superb place to stay.
The location was fabulous overlooking the sea. Close to coastal walk. Accommodation was both clean and extremely charming in its decor. Owner was delightful. Just perfect.
Friendly and helpful owners, excellent service, very clean. Location is a bit out of Weymouth centre, but close to Chesil Beach and the coastal path. Good breakfast.
It solves the Weymouth accommodation problem! Seafront too hectic, Portland looks too grim, this is at the end of town overlooking Chesil Beach in a quiet location.
Jane was welcoming and friendly, excellent food and she even returned
the property I left behind! What more could you ask? I would definitely
recommend it:).
Great hospitality. The animals and the surroundings were amazing. Very comfortable stay and the breakfast was great as well. Highly recommended.
Cake in the room each day - home made. Breakfast from local produce and their own eggs. The style and design of the rooms. The location.
The welcome and hospitality were excellent and the home cooking superb. Fantastic breakfasts, good views comfy beds and lovely rooms.
Superb B&B. Very welcoming hosts, coffee and cake on arrival, lots of small touches, wildlife nearby, fantastic breakfast.
The comfortable room, the lovely breakfast, the relaxed atmosphere, the peace and quiet, the fabulous views from the rooms.
Excellent breakfast and facilities generally. Convenient for National
Sailing Centre at Portland - 1.5 miles or 5 minutes.
The hosts were very friendly. The accommodation was spotless and I really very welcome. The little touches were nice.

Good food good location friendly host . Would stay again.
Lovley warm welcome on arrival and great breakfast.
The cakes are amazing! The breakfast was fab!.
Animals, breakfast, decor.
Food and hospitality.
We loved everything.
See above.
Great reception by owner,
homely atmosphere and great
breakfast.
Having to go home!.
Although our bathroom was very spacious and the tub was massive, I would have preferred a bathroom ensuite, rather than down the hall. I had a bit of trouble sleeping at night, as the TV in the guest lounge was quite loud 'til quite late. Otherwise everything else was perfect.
Nothing at all apart from the weather! Very blowy there but probably because they are up high.
Nothing about the B and B , it was expensive to park both at Weymouth and Portland but we chose not to go again.
This question has no relevance to this property.
Leaving.
What's not to like!!.
That is an insult to Jane and Keith. Plus. Booking. Com fee paid by the
hosts Jane and Keith was a complete rip off and a disgrace at
15%.Terrible......
Only being able to stay for two nights! We will definately go back.
Parking in Weymouth is charged until midnight and is expensive, but we
were told it is going to change. This has nothing to do with the owners,
and , to be fair, there are many places of interest, and eateries
outside of the main town.
Nothing.
