In the popular North Yorkshire town of Scarborough, just a pleasant 20-minute walk from the town’s South Bay beach, this long-established hotel welcomes families and children of all ages. The hotel offers bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation throughout the year. All of the rooms are en suite and have TVs and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel is completely non-smoking throughout. Private parking is available for guests’ use free of charge during their stay and the facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, a full-sized snooker table, a games room (with table tennis, table football and a pool table), a licensed bar and a lift to all floors. Green Gables offers spacious, comfortable, affordable accommodation and a friendly welcoming atmosphere that makes it ideally suited for families. Children of all ages are welcome. Please note this is a family-friendly hotel, for this reason it does not accept any stag, hen or same sex parties.

Food was very good as was the service. it was in quiet surroundings but there were alot of things that you could do without going to far from the hotel not too far away from the town centre within easy walking distance great hotel great for value for money. Staff were very good and it had a good selection of facilities for families. Breakfast and the pool.

This hotel had a little extra to offer compared to other hotels. The swimming pool was great. the food was nice. The facilities were excellent. A well organized establishment.Great for families with kids!!. Excellent staff and fascinating history of hotel which was once a hydropathic establishment. Good breakfast. We enjoyed all the facilities, but particularly liked the fact that the hotel had a swimming pool. Base for a coastal break. This is not like a hotel, more like a school trip experience,. good facilities indoors as weather was poor.good grounds for dog walking. The staff were very helpful. The food was good.An amazing old building, lots to explore for children. The breakfast was very good. It was very basic but clean and comfortable and value for money for a family.went to theatre. The facilities, breakfast etc. Breakfast menu and food was good. Bar area OK. Breakfast was good. Not having a shower in the bathroom. Could do with a shower installing over the bath in every room, as showers are faster, hygienic and economic.probably would be nice to have a shower in the building. Wasn't impressed with the decor in general. I also think the pool should have been opened earlier as I'd have like to have had a swim before breakfast.Room needs updating. Very 60s. it was very basic,unclean in some areas,+ could do with up-dating.There was no shower in the room,which was inconvenient.Needed a lot of money spending on it. The double bed wasn't very comfortable. Sank in middle, could do with a new bed and pillows. The windows are a bit drafty next to bed.The decor in the rooms could do with updating plus there was no shower in our room. no showers in room and no facilities in the day to get food/drinks cafe bar closed. Needs a drastic refurbishment urgently!! Hotel is quite run down, Also group of lads stayed above our room and kept my wife and daughter awake most of the night along with myself, they were shouting and jumping about and we honestly thought they were going to come through the ceiling at one stage, went down to reception to complain and it was all locked up and nobody to be seen, very poor !!. Swimming pool and its changing rooms were poorly maintained. No shower in the bathroom. Decoration in room/hotel very dated. 3 star rating should be reviewed.No sound proofing at all. Did not get to sleep till 4am as people above were walking around (not being noisy) but every footstep was really loud. When their toilet flushed you could hear all the pipes running through our bathroom like it was our toilet that was flushing. Whole hotel needs a complete makeover - also inadequate parking facilities and very narrow access road.
