  This boutique hotel is one of the best we have stayed in. It was an excellent blend of intimacy, privacy, utter quality, and yet neither snobbish or fussy. The restaurant meal was of an excellent quality which far exceeded our expectations. The location and views were magnificent.   All staff were very friendly, yet efficient and professional. The room was better than I expected for the price. We were given a free room upgrade on arrival. The breakfast service and food quality/choice were worthy of a good 4 star hotel. pool and gym very clean and well-equipped. Also we took full advantage of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and gym. The breakfast was excellent and the waiter service first class.   We had booked an overnight stay on the way back from Scotland. Our choice was an executive room - DB&B at a very good rate. The room was large and very comfortable and had a balcony overlooking the countryside and immaculate gardens. There were 2 comfortable chairs and an excellent tv. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Dini - The hotel was in a lovely setting in the select village of Wetheral, close to the city of Carlisle. Lovely walks by the river Eden, just minutes away and lots of history in the nearby St. Constantine's cell and the English Heritage abbey gatehouse. The room, although small, was immaculately decorated and very clean with lovely white crisp linen and soft fluffy towels.   This was a perfect break. The staff are such a friendly team and really go out of their way to make guests feel welcomed. The views out over the fells make you feel relaxed in the first 5 minutes.   Excellent location. The apartment was very well equiped and the ownermade us feel very welcome. Although we stayed there in summer it wasquite cold and wet but heating was available all day if we wanted touse it.   We really enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was clean and spacious and the food was of very good quality. The all you can eat breakfast was suberb. A lovely setting overlooking the river. And very good value for money compared with other places that we looked at. Free car parking is a bonus too.
