  The staff was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The ensuite bathroom was very tastefully decorated, with very up to date fixtures, and the best shower we've experienced in England! The breakfast was good and the lattes were outstanding! - I liked the idea that the hotel was small and right in the heart of town. Any stores or shops w... vad folk säger » e needed were close to us. We parked our car a few blocks away and enjoyed walking everywhere. Liked the small scale of the hotel.

  My second stay at this hotel. This is a big old Scottish house and feels very special compared with many of the more "standard type" hotels I stay in when travelling on business. Breakfast was excellent with the finest presentation of a plate of porridge I have every seen. Lovely!!! Food and bar prices seem a bit high compared with room rates but,... vad folk säger » overall, I was happy with value for money. Would certainly like to return. - The extensive and comfortable public rooms and lounges. The substantial area of the double bedroom. Good food and a well stocked bar. Attentive and friendly staff, (special mention for our delightful breakfast waitress) Drying facilities for fishing, secure storeage/cleaning facilities for shooting. Super grounds and proximity to the Abbey. The speed of response to a maintenance issue. See opp.

  Although I booked for a small double room I was given a three-bedroom cottage all to myself! The owner was welcoming and helpful. The evening meal was excellent quality. - Breathtaking views, peaceful, spacious, elegant and tasteful. One of the best we've ever stayed at.
