A traditional Georgian manor house, the lodge was built in 1780 and has been renovated to provide 21st century facilities, including free Wi-Fi. The en suite rooms have luxurious furnishings and flat-screen TVs. Most rooms have views of the lake and the fells. The restaurant’s menu of home-cooked food changes daily. The lounge bar offers light meals and afternoon tea is also available. Derwent Lodge is just over a mile from Keswick town centre, which boasts the Cars of the Stars and Pencil museums among its attractions, and 2 minutes’ walk from Derwentwater Marina which offers a range of water sports.

Everything about the hotel was excellent. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, meals were first-rate and our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable indeed. We shall return. the staff were so friendly and helpful.the room was spot on with great views.location just right nice stroll 10-15 mins into town ,so very quiet at night time a round hotel.Clean and comfortable hotel. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking. The choice and quality of the food was excellent. Highly recommended.

Excellent dinner and good, attentive service. There is another Derwent Lodge hotel about 5 miles away. The receptionsit pointed out it was a fairly common problem. Better directions or address would help. food was disappointing as more like pub food than upmarket hotel so did not match the standard of the rooms. Food was awful and hotel staff lacked training. We did not like the food - thought this was not up to standard. The breakfasts were very mediocre with very little fruit, no homemade mueslis and the service more like a motel than a hotel. The dining room was not attractive. The lounge was never used because there was no feeling of it being part of the hotel. There was no noticeboard with weather reports etc.
