Fortingall is a charming 4-star country house hotel near Aberfeldy, at the entrance to Glen Lyon and the gateway to the beautiful Scottish Highlands. With luxury rooms, the restaurant uses local, seasonal produce. Every room at the Fortingall Hotel has its own luxury en suite bathroom with fluffy bathrobes. All rooms have a flat-screen TV and a decanter of whisky. The vibrant Ewe Bar has an open fire, a bar menu for lunch and dinner and regular traditional live music. Guests can also relax with afternoon tea and snacks in the lounge. The hotel is situated in a peaceful hamlet beside the 3000-year old Fortingall Yew, just a few miles from Loch Tay. Fortingall offers excellent shooting and fishing, and the hotel is within easy reach of Pitlochry and Blair Castle.

The staff were uniformly excellent in a quiet friendly unobtrusive way. Service was quick and never posed any problems. The Matre'd was a lovely chap whom nothing phased. The food was beautifully done and tasted superb, even the bar meals were maintained at the same standard as the restaurant. Been under new management for a year or so. Place looks a bit tired and the drains need attention. The potential is incredible so long as its character is retained. The staff are very happy and attentive. The location is stupendous.

Very nice place to have some peace and quiet for a couple of nights. The Location. The Village. The hotel architecture. The hotel interior, décor and general comfort. The friendly and obliging staff. The food. The decanter of whisky in bedroom ( Two generous drams - Nice touch!). Welcome was a warm one location: an excellent area to explore comfortable room with nice bathroom. As asked for gluten free breakfast and evening meal provided which is not always the case at similar hotels. The location is difficult to beat, the staff very helpful and the breakfast experience was possibly the best of all the many hotels we have visited. The setting, the friendly and helpful staff, the open fires, the excellent hot water system, the good food and the comfortable bedrooms. Great place, traditional features, log fires, atmosphere, location, food, best staff. Extras in room and at breakfast. The courtesy friendly staff and the ambience of this hotel and met some of the local people were very friendly. Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. The smoke from the log fires which seemed to go everywhere ,and dinner in the evening did not come up to expectations. Small attic type room with tiny window - not what I expected. Evening meal was good but nothing special and certainly not worth the price. Overall a disappointing experience. did not like shower over bath. My wife could not get her leg over the bath. grossly under-staffed. Kitchen staff raised voices could be heard in dining room. Steak not well cooked.
