We arrived early before booking in time and the staff were very helpful they let us leave our luggage there while we went for a walk. Went we came back they had put our luggage in our room which we thought was a nice touch. Good views from the hotel. Plently of parking space. Good selection of real ale beers.
The staff were very helpful and
couldn't do more to make sure we were comfortable.
Food was excellent, out of the 4
nights we ate there two evenings.
On the second night we had our
twin grandchildren of 21 months
with us and we were looked after
extremely well, nothing was too much trouble.alla recensioner »
Staff were very helpful when my daughter in Australia called to ask for the name of a local florist so that she could send some birthday flowers. They took delivery of the flowers and put them in my room.
The setting is superb.
We had a very good quality continental breakfast.
Loved the quaintness of the building and the unique architectural details resulting from modernising an old building (odd shaped doors). The rooms were nicely furnished and clean with modern bathrooms. The food was also very good-great desserts!.
I loved the location but then I am a country person so of course it was perfect for me. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the dining room was attractive with a wide selection of excellent food.
Excellent value for money.
The accommodation was comfortable and very clean.
The staff where friendly and very helpful. Good food in the restaurant. Good location for the Yorkshire Dales.
Beautiful setting and building, the view while having breakfast over
looking the cow & calf rocks was stunning.... And the staff are
extremely friendly as well...
The warm friendly staff made us feel so welcome. The views were beautiful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was continental and plenty of choice.
It's such a beautiful setting and the Cow & Calf is perfect for it's location - a warm, cosy, friendly place with real fires and delicious food. Loved it!.
The service we received from checking to departing. We chose it for the convernience of places we wished to visit. Was astonished at the beautiful location.
The coal fires and the warm temperatures throughout.
plentiful supply of hot water.
friendliness of the staff.
The views of Wharfedale.
One it's on the moors
Two it's Ilkley
Three it's Yorkshire!
What else could you ask for?
Only one think .........
To come back again!!!.
very spacious and clean room, very bright and light, well heated on a very cold weekend. Serving staff very friendly and helpful.
Location, friendly staff, good value for money. We have stayed before and it remains my preferred accommodation in the town.
The views were lovely . The open fire in the restaurant was big , warm and welcoming .

The location is superb and the fact that one is able to relax.
Nice spacious room.

Loved the location, the food, the bar and the garden.
Friendly helpful staff
Good selection of guest ales.

Situation and Yorkshire country ambience.
Cosy log fires!.
The staff for the evening meal were very friendly.
the location, the views are spectacular.
The surrounding area and bar area.
Friendly Staff
Breakfast.
Great Location.
Food but suprised by limited availability in the evening menu.
Location.
The gourmet chips were ordinary fat chips not as described on the menu.
We will ask for a room on the first floor next time.
All lovely, we are planning to return this time next year.
My room which was perfect in many ways was situated almost above the kitchens and was therefore fairly noisy due to a powerful extractor just under my windows until at least 11 pm. I wanted to open the window because it was warm but that made it even noisier. This was room number 1.
Nothing.
The only thing was our room was on the top floor and only had a skylight
window,it's abit or a shame because the first floor rooms look
amazing.... But don't get me wrong the room wasn't awful or
anything it's simply the fact you miss out on them amazing views....
. Nothing.
Saturday night was very noisy until the early hours with the fire doors being constntly opening and left to close on the springs by other guests.
The beds.Too small and bouncy.
No english breakfast.
No ice available for a fresh orange drink at 11.00am.
car park very crowded, very difficult to park. Also not possible to check in before3pm.
Cooked breakfast would be nice even if offered at increased price. Travelled with my 90 year old mother and the stairs were a bit of a problem for her.
The bedroom was fine but the window was very high , it did have a little step though to see the view as it was in the roof .
not able to see out of the window to see the view!
ironing board needs new cover.
Had to climb two flights of stairs to get to the room and had to stand on a box to look out of the window. That is OK if you are only staying for one night but when you stay for a week it wasn't OK.
The security door next to room 1 that kept banging shut when other guests were going to their rooms till the early hours ... And the fire exit alarm that went off twice.
Our evening meal was just short of disaster.
You have to trail through the pub with all your bags.
No curtain etc on shower
walls a bit thin!.
not enough staff, there were dishes everywhere outside when we arrived.
limited food menu in the evening of our arrival
not enough comfortable chairs in the bar area, after driving wanted to sit in a comfortable sofa, instead the chairs were dining chairs.
Our room smelt damp, was cold and the bed was uncomfortable. The food wasn't as good as previously. Disappointed.
Attic room small
Too hot, no a.c., minimal ventilation
Difficult access to the room.
Grossly understaffed in bar/meals area, buffet breakfast of low quality. (Old dry baked goods, poor tasting coffee).
Room was like a prison cell in that you could not see out of the window in Room 11 also airless as window had minimal opening. Bed too small and paid same price as room 3 which was grand.
