Built in the early 18th century, this 4-star bed and breakfast offers contemporary rooms in the Lake District National Park. Free private parking is provided and the beautiful Tarn Hows area, managed by the National Trust, is just a 20-minute walk away. Original artwork by a local artist feature in each room, which also includes a computer and a flat-screen TV with a DVD player. Gilchrist and Soames toiletries and a hairdryer are provided in each en suite bathroom. The quaint village of Hawkshead and the Beatrix Potter Gallery are just 5 minutes’ drive away. Summer Hill is less than 10 minutes’ drive from the picturesque village of Coniston and its large lake. Full English breakfasts are served each morning in the lovely wooden-beamed dining room. Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout Summer Hill Country House.

Absolutely lovely couple, really friendly, really easy to chat to, and not at all intrusive. Really lovely house, breakfasts were fantastic, and the views/location are utterly superb. Also importantly as a gay couple, I would definitely class them as gay-friendly for any travellers - no awkwardness whatsoever, I would definitely recommend to others :). This is one of the very best! Patsy and Mike are marvellous hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast is great. Tourist advice is willingly provided. All of this is accompanied by charm, good humour, chocolates and Patsy's photography.
alla recensioner » What a truly delightful place to stay! Patsy & Mike are wonderful people who go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The room was one of the best I've stayed in, the breakfast is out of this world and the setting is jaw dropping !!. Patsy and Mike's warm hospitality, attention to detail in the rooms and throughout the property.... and great breakfasts! made our short break at Summer Hill truly memorable. peaceful location...no parking worries...owner's friendliness...easy to find...relaxing...nice breakfast...central for easy access to all parts of lake district... Very nice couple running the place, Patsy and Mike - they made all the best to make our stay wonderful! Really enjoyed it and thinking of returning back :-). Brilliant! Tea and homemade cakes upon arrival was a lovely touch. Patsy and her husband made us very welcome. A wonderful relaxing weekend had by all. Really nice pleasant place to stay. You do need a car. I only booked for one night!!. Nothing. Liked everything. Weather - but they had no control over that!!. Room and Bathroom were quite small. Nothing. Nothing. need more choice of T V channels. room a little cramped but fine.
