Set in the heart of the Peak District National Park, Millstone Country Inn is within a 15-minute drive of Chatsworth House, Ladybower Dam and the Blue John caves. Guests can also relax by the open fire or the terrace tea room. Many caves and deep caverns can be explored in the area of Castleton, which is just a 10-minute drive from the inn. The Hope Valley has adventurous hiking routes and is just 5 minutes by car.

This is a lovely country pub with excellent accommodation. Although just off the road it is quiet and peaceful, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Very good food is found in the pub - we ate there both nights - and the breakfast was hearty and delicious. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay immensely. This pub hotel was lovely to stay at. very clean with lovely friendly staff, nothing is too much for them! Room was small but very clean with a fanastic power shower. Food was excellent to and extremely good value Definatley recommend this hotel 10/10.
alla recensioner » Staff were extremely helpful & friendly as was the owner. The scenery is beautiful, & there are plenty of good walks close by, without driving. The food is superb & plenty of it, & the breakfast will set you up for the day. Place was marvellous. The room was lovely and clean. Nice curtains and bed excellent. Food ok and, the view! I couldn't image it was soooo wonderful place. Good place for wandering in Wuthering highs feelings and Pride and Predujice tracks. . I was given a double room as no single rooms were left, so it was spacious clean and the bathroom was very nice.Good choice of food for breakfast and staff was friendly and helpful and I would stay there again. Friendly helpful staff at all times. Ability to select from an extensive menu with room service if required. Large on site carpark We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again. Very good value for money. The food was very good, with excellent, large, cooked breakfasts. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. A really nice, individual experience. The views. a very nice setting. smashing countryside and just a short drive to a large city sheffield which is well worth a visit. no need to drive their just hop on a bus outside the inn! great. En-suite. views. Nothing. It was uphill from the village and railway station, so it's better come by bus ( bustop Millstone). It really took my legs:( On bank holiday there were lots of people and the road was slowly, so busses were reallyreally late!. Stairs to my room was quite steep, View from my room overlooked other houses. There was nothing we didn`t like about the Millstone Inn. The very steep upper staircase (but quite short). Some of the decor and carpets looking a bit tired and dated but didnt detract from our stay. The attitude of the staff and food made it a really pleasant Valentines night stay. We prefer a cooler environment. The bedroom was too hot and not especially light and airy. It wasn't possible to open the larger windows to let the air in. Couldn't turn room heating down. Don't be put off by slightly shabby external appearance. Nothing. In need of slight refurbishment in places but not enough to stop us staying again. Well nothing........ a little disappointed that the 6 ales weren't all available, would have preferred dark curtains in the bedroom as the light was quite bright from the busy road outside. Refurbishment of inn still to be completed (as reflected by state of curtains in our room - reported to management when checking out). The decor is a bit tired and the bed was very hard. There is nothing that we did not like. On a chilly Friday night in February, the fire in the bar/dining area wasn't on. To be fair, as soon as we asked, it was turned on. Decoration a bit tired. Room was small furniture damaged and tired. Quite a long walk to Hathersage village centre but apart from that it was ideal. It was a 25 minute walk up a hill which wasn't ideal especially with bags. The stairs up to our room. Steep and narrow staircase to our bedroom. Some of the fixutres and fitting looking a bit run down. could not get a taxi saturday for love or money. The walk back from the town was hard as the snow was piled up on pavement. Uphill for about a mile (maybe bit less). bit pricey. Everything but the en-suite and views. bedrooms were dirty and very old fashion and shabby. requested quiet rooms quiet rooms at the back of hotel and this was confirmed by phone but were given rooms at front overlooking main road.when we complained we were told these were the quiet rooms!!!!!.
