  David and Lydie were extremely friendly hosts and were very helpful in telling us how to get around, nothing was too much for them to help with. The rooms were very well designed, spotless and the bed was very comfy, not to mention the view we had (room 8) was spectacular over Edinburgh and the castle! Everything about this hotel was perfect, we will definitely - It's a really lovely decorated house. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really tasty with good choice of food (glutenfree, vegeterian, vegan was no problem). The area was extremely quiet during night time. The house is in walking distance to the castle and the royal mile. There are several good restaurants in walking distance (5-10 minutes).

  This B&B is awesome. From the start, Davy was welcoming and accommodating. I arrived in Edinburgh early and went to the B&B to drop my bags off. I arrived after breakfast was served but Davy kindly made me an omelet, toast, and tea. Then he showed me the room that was intended to be mine, talking me through the amenities. The bed was clean and super comfortable, - I liked everything from the beginning as I was met at the door with a handshake and a nice hello.   The 23 Mayfield was a total delight! The staff was amazing - everyone seemed like genuinely nice people and happy to help. The hotel owner even gave us an excellent advice what to do and see further in Scotland and let us leave our car in their not so big car park even thought we stayed for only one night. Totally recommend! - Ross was a very welcoming and relaxed host. He provided us with some good recommendation for locations to visit whilst in Scotland. Breakfast was a gourmet experience with a great range for vegetarians (i had the Campbell's vegetarian haggis both mornings). Room was tastefully decorated and a good size. We enjoyed a cold beer in the oudoor room, which was just what we needed after a full days travel.

The room when we arrived back was simp - Gareth was an excellent, charming and affable host. The room - 4- was very comfortable and tastefully furnished.(the 'detached' en suite was managed very well and we appreciated the robes) I have a thing about white cotton sheets and towels and Fraoch House gets first prize! Excellent! My cooked breakfast of smoked salmon, cream chees and bagel was delicious! Just right :-) My husband went for the full Scottish and he was equally pleased.   A very warm welcome from the hosts. A lovely hotel and rooms clean and functional. Very close to the City Centre either by walking or taking one of several buses from the nearby bus stop. Lots to see in the City with plenty of historic buildings. Plenty of bars and a good choice of eating places. Saigon Saigon Restaurant was very good as was - The staff was super friendly and service was great, food looked and tasted just great for the price u pay, shower head was broken in our room on arrival, upon telling it was fixed by the time we got back. It was very clean, and the house is 150 years old and has a real Victorian feel to it, the ceiling is just wonderful. The info we got is some of the best i've seen and gotten in a B&B its complete and one piece of paper has everything you need.

There were many many more choices if you did not want the cook - We chose this because we don't like to be in the center of the big towns we visit.
