Beautiful setting, beautiful house, beautiful breakfast! There's a lodge more or less at the end of the drive that does lovely food and you can drink the night away there and talk to the locals while they spin you a story or two! Followed by a sing song! The accomodation was cozy and comfortable and clean as a whistle! We travelled with a 4 month old baby and the owners (john and his wife) couldn't do enough! Breakfast was plentyful with lovely home made jams. There are no tv's in the rooms, .
alla recensioner » This has to be one of the best values for family lodging in the Loch Lommond area!! We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay in the self catering cottage. With 2 bedrooms, one with a double and single upstairs and another downstairs with a bunk bed set, this cottage easily accommodates a family or group of 5 people. It has a kitchen and a living/ dining area with a table that 4 can comfortably sit at for meals. The Londis grocery store is an easy 5 minute walk away and if you prefer a meal out. Had a bad experience a while back with a B&B owner so have rather used a conventional hotel .Can say that my attitude has changed after my stay here and will be using similar in the future based on the rating factor given in the letsbookhotel.com site . Room was adequate along with the free WiFi set up . Host was unobtrusive but approachable if needed . There is a restaurant a very short distance away where I had an enjoyable evening meal. Was only a night stop but can see an ideal place i. I love this place. John Christie and wife Janice were fantastic. So friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was one of the best ever. The area is spectacular and well worth a visit. I am not a backpacker or cyclist but this would be a great place to start a trip of this nature and you could easily do it without a car. The train is nearby and there is DRT available. Wow - what a fanastic B&B! The host was wonderful and really made us feel at home. The breakfast was excellent - my husband had a full English/Scottish cooked breakfast which meant he skipped lunch and my continental included three danish pastries!. If you are using a sat-nav - be warned the centre of the post-code is not pointing at the guest house. It is about 400m further west. No adverse points. It is what it says on the tin. Nothing. Early morning shower took ages to heat up but was fine the previous evening. Nothing. Room was a bit small but it did make it nice and cosy in winter. Nothing at all, I would not change anything. nothing - was great. Shower was a bit small but completely do-able. Nothing. Not the warmest place to stay in winter. west coast midges. Don't think there is a drying room, but I didn't get as far as asking, and I'm sure John would sort something out if there isn't. Nothing!. room was very small but fine for our 2 night break. Changeable weather. These are comments only: No TV in bedroom, but available in breakfast room. Rooms a bit small if you have a bit of extra baggage.
