The Premier Inn Colchester Central has a good location, close to all that Colchester has to offer. Harwich Ferry Terminal is 20 miles away, and there is a leisure centre and health spa nearby and Colchester Castle is less than 650 metres away. The hotel has a 24-hour reception desk and some rooms can take 2 adults and up to 2 children (under 16 years). The 2 children also get a free full breakfast when accompanied by an adult eating a full breakfast. An all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast is available each morning and includes the expected cooked items such as scrambled, fried, poached or boiled eggs, and pork or vegetarian sausages. There is also a wide continental selection. The on-site Beefeater restaurant serves freshly cooked char-grilled food.

Very comfortable and spacious room - dining facilities first class - good range of meals in pleasant surroundings - staff in all areas excellent - helpful, friendly and efficient. We would definitely use it again and have already recommended it to friends. Clean, comfortable and very near to the railway station. Also, it has a restaurant that's open until late, which was useful to us because were arriving mid-evening, and the hotel is quite a way away from the many restaurants in Colchester town.
alla recensioner » The location, the hotel is only 5 minutes walking distance from Colchester train station. The staff, very polite and friendly, answered all our questions as best as they could. Room with the bathroom very clean and the beds very comfy. hotel well positioned for town pubs bars and restaurants. hotel staff very friendly room clean. good meal deal 22.99 for a three course meal with a drink and an all you can eat breakfast the following day ask at reception. Central, very clean, quiet, cozy, free parking in front of the hotel. We didn't tried the restaurant, but I think that it's good. We will certainly stay at the same hotel next time when I'll be in Colchester. The Inn was very quiet and dark at night which allowed me to sleep undisturbed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. it was easy walking distance to the Caste Park and to locations in the town. Beds were extremely comfortable and there was plenty of space. The third bed ( we were in a triple) was a proper bed which my growing 14 year old liked very much. The staff were very helpful. My son slept on the sofa bed and it was very uncomfortable. He could feel the springs through the sheet. The cutlery for breakfast wasn't very clean. would have appreciated an easy chair in room. none. the boiler broke on our last day so no hot water. Nothing. Booking was incorrect (1 adult and 1 child, should have been 2 adults): but was not an issue to sort out. n/a. Beds too hard. Couldn't get a coffee to take away from the restaurant. The all in breakfast seems like good value but I can't eat all that first thing in the morning. No option to just buy some cereal. Don't want a high fat croissant so had nothing. I think the brewers fayre were a little understaffed as I had to wait a long time for my bill. In the end I went to the bar to pay, as I couldn't wait any longer. Although the staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Nothing. bar area in need of help. The disabled room was awful. The bathroom was unclean, with mould growing all over the shower walls. My mother was not willing to use the bathroom due to the state of the facilities in there. Unfortunately, this dampened our stay and we would be reluctant to stay in a Premier Inn again because of this.
