  The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly in the restaurant, where we enjoyed a quality breakfast and later an excellent evening meal when we watched the sun set over the Menai Straits. Unlike in many chain hotels, the original leaded windows could be opened wide, allowing a refreshing breeze on a warm night. - Clean, comfortable, well equiped room. Helpful staff, which included contacting us post visit about a possible lost property item that turned out not to be ours. Good room service option if too tired for the dining room after a long days walking. A good breakfast, with freshly prepared options, and a view of the Menai Strait from the windows.

  Location is excellent next to the Menai Straits. Ask for a room overlooking the pier. My annex room in the roof (24) overlooking the pier was quiet and the bed was fine but would have been a bit small for a couple. Breakfast was excellent and efficiently served.   Our stay at the Abbeyfield was great. England Wales 6 Nation's match was on, only English man in there and was made to feel very welcome. Breakfast and the evening meal were to a high standard. If ever in the area again i would have no hesitation in booking again. - The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Nice bar and good food.

  This is a recently opened B&B in Bangor, and is absolutely lovely. The rooms are large and bright, with lovely décor and furnishings, and views over either the well maintained garden areas or towards Menai Straits, and the breakfast certainly set us up for a full day's sightseeing. Susan was truly welcoming and friendly, in fact, we received... vad folk säger » a text from her just as we were arriving into Bangor Train Station to check if we needed directions, and was able to provide us with ideas for sights - Right from the front door this B & B was classy. Our room was large and so well decorated. The little touches (i.e. terry bathrobes, Q-tips, cotton balls and hair dryer) made our room extra special. This room lacked for nothing. Susan is an exceptional hostess (I say this rather than proprietor). She went out of her way to give us suggestions on where to eat and what to see (even including the codes to put into our GPS).   Very professional girl on the reception. She waited for me till the mifnight, showed everything, did it quickly and clear. THE BREAKFAST! Fruits (banana, pears, apples), yogurt, cheese, bacon - Very friendly staff. Rooms spacious and clean. Warm welcome. Large bar area.

  Throughout each year I travel the Welsh countryside 3 – 4 times to hit the mountain walks and I will certainly stay here again. The Joys of Life must rank the highest of all places I have stayed within Wales. The attention to detail from the initial booking to the layout of the room was to a very high standard. It’s very nice t - Wendy the owner was very nice, she made us feel at home and was very helpful. The hotel was extremely spacious with lovely outdoor scenery.   Fantastic weekend, spoilt rotten by Jeff and Shirley and their beautiful home. This place must rank amongst the best place in the UK for a quiet break away from it all. The rooms are spotlessly clean, very well appointed with a view over the confluence of two rivers. A huge thank you to both Jeff and Shirley for making our stay something special, the card from them for my wife - We sat each morning to have breakfast to the sound of the river and views of woodpeckers and squirrels a few feet away.The room was spotless and decorated to a high standard. We arrived each evening to complimentary homemade cake and the breakfast menu had choice and was great quality. It is located on the northern tip of Snowdonia so loads to visit and do. Such a lovely relaxing place to get away from it all.
