It is the former home of the Rural Dean of Wensleydale, whose photos and artwork are still on display around the charming building. Rooms have contemporary décor, and benefit from a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Each has an en suite bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer. The spectacular Aysgarth Waterfalls, a series of cascades stretching for over half a mile along the River Ure, are only five minutes’ walk from Stow House. Historic castles, abbeys and stately homes are within easy driving distance.

The house is beautiful and the rooms are well presented and large. We had an 8 month old with us and the staff provided a cot and high chair which was great. The extra benefit of Stow house was there is a lounge and help yourself bar downstairs which meant we could have a relax downstairs while our baby slept (our baby monitor was very effective for this). The breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly and accommodating.
alla recensioner » The room was lovely, as was the whole of Stow. Beautiful view of the hills and the Falls are just a short walk away. Although they don't serve food in the evening, they kindly recommended a couple of places to eat and booked us a table at our chosen one - The George & Dragon, which was wonderful! The venue, food and staff there were great too. We'll be back to both, again. Stow House is in a perfect Dales location. The accommodation is excellent and the owners take great care to ensure guests needs are met. Standards are consistantly high and the ambience relaxed in this lovely house and grounds. With bar facilities and garden on site and nearby inns offering extensive evening menus this is an ideal place to stay. Stow House is a lovely building in a fantastic setting with excellent views. The location makes it easy to access different areas of the Dales. Our en suite room was good and in addition Stow House has separate large and small lounges to relax in which are a great bonus. The staff are polite and helpful.The breakfasts are excellent. Everything! The house itself is beautiful in a beautiful setting with views of the Dales...the room was furnished with tasteful antiques and the bed was incredibly comfortable...service was wonderful by Irene, the owner...I loved it and would definitely go back...highly recommend!. Nothing to dislike really. Nothing!. The only thing that our room lacked was a shower. No self service for cereals or fruit juice. Lack of fixed shower, but over-bath facility was OK. Having to leave - but will be returning. Very hard, uncomfortable bed. We would return but not to that room as we hardly slept. All good!. Nothing - could not fault our stay. The room and bathroom were a bit cold in the morning. The only thing I didn't like was a very minor problem of the fire door being on a strong closing spring which made a bang every time someone went through it. A gentle closing would be far better. nothing. There was nothing to dislike. Nothing really. Room 5 is a bit small. The honesty bar needs replenishing, most of the bottles were empty. The description was a bit over exaggerated which was a shame as it didn't need to be. Hard bed I had to use a pillow as after first night my hips hurt but most places have hard beds. The location and angle of the TV in the room. Not having individual heating controls in rooms. Having to leave after a weekend break. Bed a wee bit harder than used to. Nothing. Poor street lighting. The 4 poster was not worth the money, too small and a little shabby.
