Excellent location in centre of Dales with nice walks directly from village. Friendly staff, good beer and dartboard in bar. Will return next year.
Big room, comfortable bed. Pretty good food. Good base for exploring beautiful area. Good mid-week deal.
The bed was massive and food fantastic! The staff were really kind, they even did Our washing!.

Food was delicious.
Breakfast OK but not much variety, would have liked some fruit and a more varied choice. Small complaint but annoying - in the room the dressing table mirror faced the window and the full length mirror was propped up on the floor and the bathroom mirror was badly lit, made it difficult to do hair and make up!
Advertised as free wi-fi but only works in bar and no mobile signal at all. (However was able to use payphone.).
The smell of air freshner in e building and the bed linen needs updating/new items brought.
Don't rate it as a 4* . Very drab and dated. Although we had a 'superior ' room, the bathroom was very small, and couldn't open the bathroom door fully. The towels were small, thin and actually torn and frayed around the edges. We didn't think the £85 per night was at all justified, and certainly won't be staying there again.
