  The room was quirky inasmuch that it was on two levels with a beautiful refurbished bathroom, a dressing table area and wardrobe, then up four stairs to the bedroom and sitting area. Nothing was lacking in facilities. THe restaurant and bar areas were always busy and popular with walkers and visitors to the area. I shall definitely stay at Wateredg - The Wateredge Inn is in a wonderful location right on the lake. The views out to the boats bobbing on the lake were lovely. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable as was the bathroom. The inns lounge and dining areas were very nice, with again a beautiful outlook. The two Scottish sisters who waited on us for breakfast were lovely and friendly as was Ryan the bar man. The countryside around Ambleside was really beautiful and well worth a longer visit.

As soon as you arrive you get a friendly face welcoming you and they are so helpful. The pool was brilliant and clean.   All staff were very friendly, yet efficient and professional. The room was better than I expected for the price. We were given a free room upgrade on arrival. The breakfast service and food quality/choice were worthy of a good 4 star hotel. pool and gym very clean and well-equipped. Also we took full advantage of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and gym. The breakfast was excellent and the waiter service first class. We found all staff very helpful and there to make our stay enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly be visiting again very soon.

  Everything! The staff were wonderful and the food excellent. - Felt more like a 4* plus hotel, not a 3. Nice details like great towels and fresh milk available for in-room coffee. Quality decor in room, nice bathroom too. Very convenient to town without being in it.

  This was our second visit to the Waterhead. An excellent hotel. Luxurious but comfortable. Super food and friendly staff. Fantastic views! - we enjoyed evreything about our stay, location was beautiful, hotel was lovely, and restaurant was excellent

  The room was recently and well-decorated with quality fittings including an ingenious blind. The service was very friendly - I was shown round the hotel and to my room. The service at breakfast was simply excellent. Even after I checked out and asked to stay for a bit longer, I was made to feel welcome and brought a complimentary cafetiere of coff... vad folk säger » ee. - The room was spacious, well-decorated, very comfortable and I felt pampered. Fabulous bed. Huge bathroom with the best shower in Britain. Dinner was delicious. Lots of soft armchairs to relax in before dinner. You could open the windows and adjust the heating (to dry clothes in the bathroom).

  This boutique hotel is one of the best we have stayed in. It was an excellent blend of intimacy, privacy, utter quality, and yet neither snobbish or fussy. The restaurant meal was of an excellent quality which far exceeded our expectations. The location and views were magnificent. A perfect stay! - Everything ! Exceptional location. Gourmet food. Bring back the michelin star asap. We stayed at Dovenest: a very big cottage, separate from main building, bathroom has size fit for a ballroom.
