  The room was quirky inasmuch that it was on two levels with a beautiful refurbished bathroom, a dressing table area and wardrobe, then up four stairs to the bedroom and sitting area. Nothing was lacking in facilities. THe restaurant and bar areas were always busy and popular with walkers and visitors to the area. I shall definitely stay at Wateredg - The Wateredge Inn is in a wonderful location right on the lake. The views out to the boats bobbing on the lake were lovely. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable as was the bathroom. The inns lounge and dining areas were very nice, with again a beautiful outlook. The two Scottish sisters who waited on us for breakfast were lovely and friendly as was Ryan the bar man. The countryside around Ambleside was really beautiful and well worth a longer visit.

  Everything! The staff were wonderful and the food excellent. - Felt more like a 4* plus hotel, not a 3. Nice details like great towels and fresh milk available for in-room coffee. Quality decor in room, nice bathroom too. Very convenient to town without being in it.

  The room was recently and well-decorated with quality fittings including an ingenious blind. The service was very friendly - I was shown round the hotel and to my room. The service at breakfast was simply excellent. Even after I checked out and asked to stay for a bit longer, I was made to feel welcome and brought a complimentary cafetiere of coff... vad folk säger » ee. - The room was spacious, well-decorated, very comfortable and I felt pampered. Fabulous bed. Huge bathroom with the best shower in Britain. Dinner was delicious. Lots of soft armchairs to relax in before dinner. You could open the windows and adjust the heating (to dry clothes in the bathroom).

  Alison was very welcoming and helpful. Just having had a foot operation she was keen to provide any help needed. The room was quiet and the bed large and comfortable. The en-suite had everything needed, with a good shower & hot water. The whole place was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was substantial and not greasy. The cooked breakfast was excellant. We were warmly welcomed, well fed and very well look after during our stay. We loved it! And excellant value for money as well.

  Beautiful room, comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. Very friendly and helpful hosts with good recommendations if you don't know Ambleside very well. Very accommodating when we asked for an early breakfast as heading out on an early outing, we then had the cooked breakfast the following morning and it was the best meal we had in Ambleside all w... vad folk säger » eekend! A very nice, cosy, welcoming place to return to after a wet, soggy day on the fells. - We booked two rooms as we visited with family from overseas. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodatingThey provided us with many tips on the area. My parents liked the place so much they went back to stay again a few days later. Perfect location and lovely breakfast. Would definitely recommend Ambleside and this guesthouse!
