Comfortable clean room and bathroom. We had a spacious double room with generous shampoos, shower gels and biscuits with tea making facilities. The barman checking us in was friendly on arrival and informative. We had a hearty meal in the bar in the evening which was good value. Telly and wifi in the room worked well. Cooked breakfast in the morning and choice of cereals. We had an enjoyable stay and left feeling it was excellent value for the money compared to other hotels in the town. Would d. alla recensioner »
Great welcome from the staff even though they had to talk me in as got a
bit lost in the one way system. Provided a great map when directions
were needed and went above and beyond. Downstairs bar and resturant
looked great..looked newly done. Room was very clean although a little
tired round the edges but the bedding and towels were spotless. Beds
were really comfy and the breakfast was very good. Food served during
the day looked great too. Will definately be back, hopefully when the
weather i.
The hotel is located on a very beautiful sea shore and is in a perfect location for staying overnight and then exploring Snowdonia the next day. We travelled on a motorbike and were a bit concerned about the stay, because the hotel didn’t provide private parking. When we arrived we found out that it was possible to park at very front of the hotel in a public parking just on the sea coast. It seemed to be better than few private ones where we have stayed in past because the town seemed to be ver.
We enjoyed the lovely large clean room with views of the hills at the back, we would of liked a sea view but when we go back we will ring the hotel and arrange this!
The staff where friendly, the food and beer was good, enjoyed all the shops and the eating out was nice in Aber, the views from the hotel and castle r wonderful, just had a lovely few days there wish we had had more, next time we will!! ;)).
We picked this hotel as we like to stay in older buildings that have character and it was right on the Promenade. The Staff were all very friendly and the free wi-fi was nice as it was included in the very reasonable price we paid. We managed to park right outside the hotel the day we arrived and as we had 4 hours in the morning we took the opportunity to take a wander around Aberystwyth.
Wonderful sea-front location. We sat in our bay window drinking tea and holding a conversation with our friends who were swimming in the sea across the prom.
The staff could not have been more helpful, finding us train times, taxis etc, and were very friendly.
It will definitely be the place we will stay in when we next visit Aber.
This hotel has really nicely decorated rooms. Very clean and fresh, rooms with a lovely sea view. There were singles, couples and business people alike staying within the hotel. Very comfortable surroundings, and as my purpose was business travel the free wifi really was a great facility. Excellent value for money.
The breakfast was fantastic and the food in the bar/restaurant was excellent. I thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are vegetarian - they cater extremely well for veggies. The room was really large, and great for the price. Staff were really helpful and friendly. All in all a great hotel.
The hotel is well positioned right on the sea front. The staff were friendly and very helpful. My room was clean and surprisingly well appointed. Breakfast was freshly cooked and well presented. The walk along the sea front is very pleasant in the early morning.
The room was spacious, warm, clean and comfortable. The staff were
friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and the bar food was of a
high quality and a reasonable price. Draft beer was well kept and
changed through the week we were there.
Brilliant location, and staff were really friendly, went out of their way to help guests. Food superb and the most wonderful view of the coastline. A great place to enjoy a real seaside holiday. I look forward to the next visit!.
Fresh towels on arrival, kettle, tea and coffee facilities, en suit with shower, warm room, accomadated our baby with suitable cot, plenty of space in the room and breakfast was a good choice of cereals and cooked breakfast.
location superb, staff friendly, room lovely, breakfast great - just wish we could have stayed more than one night. will definitely be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family. thanks to everyone.
Absolutely loved the location--wonderful views of the ocean from the room and restaurant on first floor. Room was very big, had everything that was needed and clean. We wished we had stayed there more than one night!.
What a lovely little hotel! Student-ish clientelle in the bar but all well behaved and just enjoying a drink while gazing at the sea. Nice bar, very comfy and clean room, chirpy and friendly staff. Nice breakfast.
Very friendly and accommodating staff - even allowed us to eat a take away pizza in the bar as we arrived after they finished serving food. Very welcoming to the dog - this is highly unusual but much appreciated.
Double Bed for single room rate, Great price for my Three nights while visiting my son at UNI. Friendly Hosts and Great location. Room facilities good. Better than some hotels I have used at twice the price.
The room faced the sea providing an inspiring view and the relaxing sounds of the waves breaking against the sea wall at high tides. All of the food served was good, and the staff very friendly and helpful.
Staff Breakfast Bed was comfy We were able to borrow a fan and
hairdryer. We were able to run a tab on our room. We were able to bring
our dog without hassle. Did I mention the friendly staff? ;).
The Manager and accompanying staff were exemplary, very helpful and welcoming. Really good atmosphere and comfortable room. I would recommend a stay here to all I know. It was first class.
Wonderful sea view from all areas at the front of the hotel, bedrooms, bar and lovely terrace. Staff were very pleasant and efficient and choice of food and drink in the bar was good.
It was just great, very friendly Staff, great food, amazing view, good location :-) I would recommend to anyone! We will definitely visit this hotel again, but next time in summer ;-).
Friendly staff, convenient bar downtairs for food & drink.
We will definately book again
Excellent breakfast & mushrooms would be a welcome addition & less meat maybe.
Female staff that were on duty were first class. Hotel is spotless. Location is fantastic. Real ale top notch. Top value for money hotel in Aber look no further i assure you.
Spacious room with view overlooking the bay, comfortable bed. Typical old seaside hotel. Friendly staff. Tasty meals in the bar. Near the cliff railway and the coastal path.
Dog friendly hotel
Staff were very pleasant and helpful throughout.
Loved being on the seafront
Breakfast was of very good quality
Short walk to town and the restaurants.
Rooms were fresh and really clean. Although basic they had everything required and had been recently renovated. Excellent sea-view. Breakfast was fresh and well cooked.
The food was excellent and good value for money. Breakfast was included and my daughter and I had our evening meal there also. The staff were very polite and friendly.
Great location and views of the Irish Sea right out of your window. Awesome value for the money spent and the staff was very helpful. Would recommend this place.
The breakfast - beautifully fresh and very welcome; the view from the lounge/bar - watching the magnificent sunset over Cardigan Bay; the friendliness of the staff.
I thought hotel was great , had window wide open to listen to the sea . Breakfast great too . Our son is @ uni there . We will definately stay with you again .
A relaxed feeling in the Hotel, excellent
food, good selection. Loved sitting in the Bay Window having a meal or a drink. Parking was good with no problems.
Fabulous location right on the beach. Extra large room, very nicely appointed, great pub style food and breakfast was very good. Highly recommend.

staff extremely friendly and helpful
value for money
delicious breakfast
large screen television

very comfortable bed.
Lovely location right on sea front. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room good size, clean good tv reception. Bar good value, sea front patio.
Everything. Excellent meal in the pub on the groundfloor, warmly staff and super location in front of the sea.
Beutiful university town.
Nice relaxed atmosphere, laid back kind of thing. Leisure mainly, well equipped place. Felt like I was staying at a relatives house.
The location of the hotel was beautiful and the food and beer was fantastic! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Comfortable bed, very good breakfast and staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Beautiful lookout across the promenade.
The views from the hotel. The friendliness of the staff. The walk along the prom into town. Walking distance to the station.
Everything! Fantastic staff, beautiful rooms, great views and yummy food! 2nd time we've stayed and it won't be the last!.
Hotel nicely situated on seafront. Fabulous sea view room with huge windows.Friendly staff, clean room, quiet overnight.
Staff very friendly & attentive
Lovely sea view from our bedroom
Enjoyable evening meal at a very fair price.
The sea-side location is unmatched. The rooms had generous proportions, and there was plenty of parking nearby.
In particular how clean the bathroom was.
The cleaners did not come in too early and rush you out of the room.
Friendly staff. Helpful. Room clean, fresh and roomy. Breakfast excellent. Location could not have been better.
Fabulous views from bedroom window, friendley, helpful staff, clean and comfortable. Quiet, pleasant hotel.
Location on the seafront, shower unit was broken and we were moved
promptly to another room, very helpful.
Nice hotel lovely location good range of real ales, busy place could only accommodate us for one night.
The hotel was clean with a nice spacious room and in a great seafront location.
Good value for money.
Slightly noisy plumbing which would disturb you if you're a light sleeper.
Only negative was they stop serving food at 8pm and as we were late
arriving we missed out on what looked like a great home cooked meal.
No hair dryer in our room.
My friend has arthritis and the stairs were a problem. It's a Victorian building and perhaps not really suitable for installing a lift.
Nothing, not to like.
Nothing!.
Struggling - a teapot to make a pot of tea at breakfast rather than a
tea bag in a cup would have been nice.
Lots of flies on the beach made their way into the hotel, not the fault of the Glengower, obviously, and may well have been the hot weather.
cant think of anything other than parking - could be a problem if we came on a sunny day.
Liked most everything in room considering it was an older Victorian building.
Exterior a bit tired but don't let that put you off. Stay here.
Bedroom furniture was old but serviceable.
En Suite Bathroom had no heating, so quite cold in November. Nowhere in the bathroom to hang Towels or place washing bags, etc.
The bathroom was tiny but manageable, if you positioned yourself creatively to use the various facilties.
We didn't have a seaside room. Please note, we knew we wouldn't
have a seaside room when we booked. This was not a mistake on the part
of the hotel.
Nothing.
Parking is absolutely dire and this was in October. Goodness knows what it is like in the summer.
Absolutely nothing at all.
A small point , but a hairdryer in the rooms would have been great ,instead of having to go downstairs, request and return one.
The service of tea and coffee at the tables rather than a help yourself situation does not take a a big effort but would be so much more relaxing for the visitor.
Food was a little pricey but was fine.
Our room lookover the street behind which was not very nice and the hotel furniture in our room needed updating. Very old and tired looking.
Room wasn't cleaned properly on a daily basis.
The bedroom was a little 'tired' and good have done with re-decoration/sprucing up a bit.
Although we knew in advance we were on the 3rd floor, a lift would be a
great help.
decor a bit dated although clean and tidy.
Nothing. This was a good value convenient location.
Not for business. They didn't seem very professional. But then who would come here for business.
Bathroom was a little chilly as there was no heater.
The rooms were a bit scuffed.
Leaving!.
The food was flavourless.
Smell of paint as newly decorated - but not a problem.
Having to leave. Would have loved to stay longer.
Nothing.
Bar closed at 11 pm 20 minutes after we checked in.
The shower was not regulated so went hot or cold when other rooms were using water.
