  Was a bit wary given the bad reviews, but this was a fantastic experience. Lovely old castle with modern facilities, friendly staff, peaceful location with large grounds, huge beds, superb breakfast, and the gym and pool facilities were top class.   Skene Suites Holburn far exceeded our expectations. We had booked a 3 bedroom suite as we were grandparents and parents with 2 year old and 4 month old baby. I cannot speak highly enough of the suite we had- masses of space, lovely lounge , excellent and well equipped kitchen . very large bedrooms - in fact perfect for our needs. Yet, the room facilities and the entire hotel facilities are offering more "Luxury" for all guests. All properties are located at the quiet residential areas lined with traditional architectures.   We travel regularly to Aberdeen and this is the best place/ value for money we have yet stayed. a quiet pleasant residential area and yet within easy walking distance to the city centre. Very comfortable and well equipped hotel apartments, spotlessly clean and excellent service. Very nice hotel lounge and really appreciated the tea and coffee facilities there and biscuits. Also well stocked hone - We had a two bedroom appartment for three people and we loved the appartment right away. Plus the two bedrooms we had a sitting room with TV and a well-furnished kitchen. the bathroom was a bit small, bu okay. All of the appartment as well as the whole hotel was absolutely tidy. We had a full scottish breakfast and croissants, were waited upon by very friendly waiters and later on helped by the receptionist with recommendations for the city. I definitely can recommend this hotel.
