The hosts (Mr Pong and his wife) were very friendly, helpful and service oriented (they live directly near the resort). Baan Rim Lay was excellent. rhe hotel is just 3 massive beachfront rooms. So much space! Can't go wrong. Lovely balcony, AC in room, personal sunbeds on the beach, free wifi. Super clean. Huge bathroom. Our room was only 6 months old so everything new. Family run and super friendly with everything, great personalised service. Highly recommended.

I loved the vegetation in and around the hotel, the Thai style architecture of the bungalows, the location was great very close to the little village and to restaurantes and grocery shops. Breakfast was good.I was there in low season and got a very good price deal per night through letsbookhotel.com.

Wow! We stayed at the soontreeya for 3 nights. We could have stayed there for ever. Excellent bungalows, perfect beach location and the staff is amazing. The treated us like family. My friend and I just came back from a fantastic 10 day stay here. The owners Conor and Sai were great; very friendly, very helpful as indeed were all the staff. The place has recently been renovated to a very high standard. The bungalows were large, exceptionally light and clean and everything worked well; shower, air con, TV, fridge, Wifi etc etc. Lovely clean pool and eating/bar area. Huge breakfasts! Great bar! I would highly recommend it and want to go back right now.

The front end receptionist for this resort was awesome always smiling
and helpful her English was excellent and much appreciated after many
tours and encounters that boasted English speaking guides and very
little English is understood the owners of the resort where equally
friendly I would recommend it for a decent beach and resonable prices -

We were there during the low season and the restaurant was closed except for b/fast, which was quite adequate.
The staff were always very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are spacious and we had a beautiful view of the ocean. It's a bit out of the main town, the best way to get around is to rent a scooter.
I would definitely recommend this hotel. -

Beautiful rooms, absolutely gorgeous sea view - looked like majority of rooms had excellent view. Pool area was nice to relax in. Good location to get around the island. Close to saladan for the town but lots of convenience stores nearby and atm's for water etc. Definitely recommended

Da and her staff were great, the girls really do their best even if they don't understand. Da helped with and saved us money on day trips, all of which were brilliant, our favorite being Koh Rok.
Loved, loved, loved the shower! Pool was great and room was spacious and clean, although the bed sheets smelt a little dusty.

very quiet, only 20 guest (high season 300). Location was nice, but you have to rent a motorbike (4 euro/day) to explore the island more. Beautiful garden and ponds (with some Iguanas in it) in the center of the hotel, so nice view from breakfast area, which is on 2nd floor. We sat at the balcony, very nice.

Friendly and courteous staff, great central location on the island (scooter rental available on site). Very relaxing environment...conducive to both couples and families.
Relative to other places such as Phuket, Lanta is a safe place to ride a scooter, especially if you avoid high speeds and riding at night. As a result, the central location of the resort makes it a great place to be if you want to get out and explore for a few days!

other but clean. Good value for money. The resort is more south but a
small village is close and there are 2-3 mini marts very close (2-5 mins
walk). You can also rent a scooter and I didn't got the feeling that
they want to cheat you with (meaning making money with scratches etc). I
had a scooter several times and they never checked it after I have

Rooms -
everything was perfect. food, location, staff, cleaning. Staff is very kind and friendly. Nearly every night there is a social event like wine tasting and free tapas. They arrange many facilities like snorkelling (must try) and island tours. Also they put flowers every part of hotel and really smells good :). Rooms are really big and over quality.
There are only 50 rooms in this hotel so that it is not crowded and quality oriented. Loved here.
