This guesthouse is what the owner wants it to be : a cosy nest. As soon as you step in, she welcomes you with a true smile and explains you the house philosophy. "You're part of the family now". Needless to say that it feels great and it makes you comfortable right away. Moreover, the place is neat, clean and has a somewhat trendy feeling. The rooms are big, bathrooms included (for ours at least) and the location is right in the middle of the old city. You can rent the owner's scooter for 200 B.
alla recensioner » I loved the way the young lady who runs this place takes care of the guests. She really works hard to help people have a good time in Chiang Mai. The price is ok, for a little extra money she gives you breakfast outside in the yard. The place is clean and quiet. Very good for a woman travelling alone like me, but also for family with young children because it's safe and away from the street. Visit the temple next to this guesthouse in the evening , around 8 or 9 pm, when it is quiet and cooler. March -the owner- really takes care of the guests. She is so friendly and helpful! She even took me to very nice places around the city. The house is a traditional Thai house, which makes the stancy even more special. No big luxor, but very familiar and confortable. Good location, as well. The staff were friendly and very helpful.All activities from trekking to cooking classes can be organised by the staff at the best possible rates.A truly comfortable stay just slightly away from the "falang strip". The staff is very friendly and lovely. She is a superwoman! It is clean! I had a great time in Chang Mai! When I comebach i'll stay in Tara Guesthouse!. very friendly host mom (made delicious lunch for us), very helpful, made good suggestions, central location, cozy rooms, a place to come back!. This was a decent enough budget hostel at the top end of the old city. A brisk 15 minute walk got you to Tha Phae Gate. The owners were pleasant enough and offered tours etc without being too pushy!. the owner was really lovely, and really helpful. She helped organise some of our activities and transport, and her recommendations were very helpful. good service. nice tiny garden. quiet. Nothing to dislike. Not every room has air condition!. A litlle bit fare from the night bazar - but is only 1$ tul tuk for transportation or 15-20 min walk. none. - Shared bathrooms - clean, but very very basic. The songthaew driver had no clue where it was and spent 20 minutes driving around aimlessly. The shower flooded the bathroom with every use. the room we stayed in was hot even in the nights. recommend you get the ac room. sound insulation is bad. house is old. It was clean, but photos are misleading.
