Also found the staff to be very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.   Everything about California House is excellent: The management and staff are extremely helpful, efficient and friendly. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and equipped with all modern amenities. Use of the high-speed internet computer and satellite TV (included in the price), is a unique feature. Situated perfectly (7 mins on tram to the Hauptbahnhof (sp?) main station) and within 200 metres of a supermarket. Kitchenette was perfect for cooking breakfast/lunch so as to avoid very expensive meals out too often. Bathroom spotless with very good shower and fantastic, new whirlpool bath which fit two people no problem.

  Excellent facilities, good clean rooms, friendly staff who spoke English (sadly I do not speak german) and a good location for getting into the centre of Zurich and the Bahnhof (tram outside the door - tickets available from reception).   The rooms were reasonably sized. We could keep and open 2 big bags while having enough space to walk. The kitchen was very small but it was fine as we cooked for our kids only. The hotel and rooms were clean. For the price and location, it was a good place. The staff was very courteous and helpful and this place is about 2 tram stops on tram 10 or... vad folk säger » 10 mins walk from Zurich train station. - The Astor is a short tram ride (uphill) from the train station - take #7 towards the zoo and get off at the first stop once the tram turns uphill after crossing the river. The unit we had has a small kitchen that was very handy. The beds are comfortable and the rooms on the back side of the hotel are very quiet. There is a free laundry machine! We absolutely loved our stay here.

  Läget - The room is large and very comfortable. Breakfast very good . The location is great, extremely near the lake, the main station and main shopping street. All is possible by walking distance.   Läget var utmärkt - fem minuter från Bahnhofstrasse. Vi hade tur och fick ett mycket rymligt rum i annexet. Bra service när vi anlände tidigt och fick lagra väskor etc innan vi gick ut på stan. Nyrenoverat. fanns ett fräsch stryk rum som kom väl till pass när vi skulle pressa smokingen. Går att få lyxigare hotell för samma... vad folk säger » pris i Zurich knappast med samma centrala läge. - Rena, stilrena rum, hjälpsam och informativ personal. Bra läge i förhållande till tågstationen och centrum av staden. Bra extra service i form av att hotellet kan ordna buss till flygplatsen för rimligt pris.

  Ambience, cleaniness, friendliness of staff - Its location was excellent and although garage parking was available at a cost the staff assisted by moving our car into free street parking and we had no hassles at all.
