Visiting a well known place can seem like a bit of a lottery -
particularly when staying in a hostal. None of the usual concerns
applied. The owners , Gemma and Michael are delightful - welcoming,
efficient, always on hand to answer questions, provide maps or advice
on where to visit, eat etc. The location is great - central, but easy
to find, with parking close by (yes expensive but Michael is right -
Toledo is not made for cars, and knowing you are safely parked is worth

The room, though small, is decorated in very good taste and is quite
comfortable, very clean and very well-located. The room is also
charming, with a Spanish style balcony, and air-conditioned. The
proprietor is a lovely, gracious man who makes it his business to make
you feel at home. All the advice he gave us about what to see in
Toledo, the deals available to tourists, the best restaurants--- was
spot on. I was traveling with my teenage son, but would definitely
return with my husband.
Michael and Gemma who run this hostal are really warm and helpful. The place has only 9 rooms so it's more like being in a friendly home than an impersonal hotel. Despite the bedroom and bathroom being small, our hosts have managed to fit most of the things required into the space. The daily supply of lollies and nibbles is most generous! Hotel is in a great location that is central to much of Toledo's old city. Take Mike's recommendation of Restaurant Abadia for your dinner. Superb!!.
There's a number of positive aspects to be mentioned: great location, helpful staff, good value for money, and all that sort of thing. But there is something else which actually makes this family hotel very special... Although it can't boast a vast range of facilities, it has something most hotels lack. It's those personal touches that provide you with the atmosphere all of its own and make the place really exceptional. Highly recommended.
Michaelangelo and Jemas were very hospitable and friendly, which was nice for a solo traveler. They answered questions and patiently provided guidance for restaurants, tourist sites, and even bus/train schedules. Also, the location is very convenient, since the entrance is on a quiet street right off of the main commercial street. If you want simple, clean, hospitable, and affordable, this is the place.

The owner most helpful in giving advice of where to go and where to eat etc. All his tips proved to be winners.
Although no parking on site due to city limitations owner sent an email before hand giving directions to closest parking and advice. All proved most helpful,but beware that luggage must be carried to the Hostal no off load possibilty.
This hostal is in the middle of the historic part of Toledo. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and the room was super clean, though very small. It was quiet in spite of being on a busy little lane. We were impressed that there was heating and cooling in the room.
Two days for Toledo is not enough!.
Miguel was lovely and very helpful. He gave us a map on which he pointed out places of interest in relation to the hostal, and places to eat. The breakfast recommendation was superb - a favourite with locals too. The room was spotless and the basket of sweets a lovely touch. We would return.
The central location was great -- only minutes from all the major sights in Toledo. Michael was extremely helpful in getting us oriented and answering all our questions. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it, especially for such a reasonable price.

The couple that owns the place could not be nicer - offered to show us restaurants, shops, etc. Room was impeccably clean and comfortable, included a small refrigerator & electric tea kettle for coffee/tea.
Very quaint and beautiful room, with exposed rock walls and open beams. Very clean. The owners were very friendly and helpful, all their suggestions for places to eat and things to do were perfect.

There is nothing one can criticise - this hostal lives up to its
description and previous good reviews.
They need to put a mirror in the bedroom, so two don't have to crowd into the bathroom at once.
We failed to find anything to be disliked about Hostal la posada de Zocodover. Some complain about low ceilings, though. Of course, it might be a problem if you're planning to do a high jump.
Our room was just above reception so we heard people arriving, the telephone and the tv. However, this was only during the day - it was lovely and quiet after about 10.30 pm and so it is a point to bear in mind if you're allocated this room rather than something to not like.
