The staff at this hotel can't do enough for you. I am now stayed at this hotel twice and enjoyed the experience on both occasions. Its proximity to the port of Santander is of particular importance to me. My ferry from Portsmouth arrives late enough in the day that I would not want to drive on any great distance and this hotel is ideally situated. It is a beautiful old building, well loved and well cared for. I would no hesitation in recommending this is an excellent place to stay. The hotel ha.
alla recensioner » A lovely building, tastefully restored and modernised, a real discovery! So handy for Santander ferry port, yet quiet, very affordable and comfortable. We had a lovely modern room overlooking the palace grounds, with excellent facilities. Sadly it was Chefs night off, so we had to eat locally - not bad but in a very sad area! Breakfast at the hotel was first class on the terrace! All the staff were very friendly and also very much dog-lovers! Value for money is superb - I highly recommend this . Hotel is in an ideal spot for touring the stunning countryside and coast .The hotel had really excellent facilities broadband very fast 12meg plus . The hotel is located close enough to walk to a number of restaurants and bars . It really is an oasis away from busy cities. Bottom line I would highly recommend this hotel . The standard of service from the staff is brilliant, the young lady receptionist even drove to guide us to the property as it is not easy to find - especially in the dark, when our ferry arrived late! Coffee is supplied, with breakfast, on a By Basis and I would far sooner be able to help myself rather than having to keep asking. However, the staff will obligingly bring you as many copies as you like! As far as I can tell, all hotel rooms upstairs and there is no lift — probably wouldn't suit somebody with bad mobility problems. Having to eat out, but to be fair the Chef is entitled to some time off and it was a Sunday!. Nothing at all. Unfortunately we were not able to eat in the property's restaurant, but an order for pizza's was very handled and we were well looked after in a very smart modern bar area. All good. Nothing. The noisy pipes on some ocassions. nothing. breakfast was very poor - no eggs/chees/salamy. Solares not that great. Nothing. Have stayed there before. Nothing. On arrival our room was unbearably hot and there was no air con in room even though hotel corridors appeared to be cooled through air con. We opened the tiny window and this helped but were woken up early by the sound of machinery nearby.
