  We loved the tranquility and the setting. It was a most relaxing time. Maryliese was fantastic she did all she could to help and make our stay comfortable. We loved her and thought she did so well under loads of pressure. She deserves a medal or a R2000 raise in pay.

  I travelled with my 80-something mom-in-law and we loved every moment in the graceful surroundings. This hotel has been transformed by the current owners and it is outstanding value for money. - The friendly ambience of the hotel. The rooms are well appointed and beautifully decorated. The staff were excellent and seemed to enjoy working there.

  Female staff was excellent. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for some of the younger male members of staff. However, we had a lovely stay and the garden room was very comfortable.   The apartment was lovely and quite large. We didn't use the pool since we weren't there that long. (An overnight stay.) The rooms were large and beautiful. The shower was the best I had since leaving the States! Leon, the owner, let us in after arriving a full hour later than allowed. The staff there, servers, cook and office assistant, There - We arrived in Cape Town and had no where to stay and 51 on Forrest Drive where efficient and made our booking quickly and timeously and we were never disturbed when we were there and the food was delicious!

  Location: out of the city, therefore nice and quiet and very picturesque, but yet close enough to Somerset West and Stellenbosch Centre and under 30 minutes’ drive to the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. Christo & Martine fantastic hosts. Very much like staying with friends. We will be back next year for extended stay in self catering cottages which are to the same high standard as the bedrooms.
