  Manaar House is definitely one of the best places to stay in Durban/Umhlanga. We stayed there for three nights in the self Catering Apartment. The a/c duplex unit was extremely spacious, spotlessly clean, nicely furnished and well maintained. Not a single word of criticism worth mentioning here, except maybe that it is located pretty close to the ... vad folk säger » motorway, so having breakfast on the large roof terrace might become a bit noisy. But the best thing to report was the warm, generous and very welcomi - As a couple with young kids, it was an absolute dream staying at Manaar House as it was so kid friendly that our kids did not want to go out because of the toys provided in our section of the house! They had so much fun & were so comfortable and as parents, that mattered most to us. The views from the kids rooms were phenomenal & they absolutely loved it!   I was impressed with Tosca's attentiveness - she asked where I would like to go and brought out a map to help me. I felt very well looked after. We were there for the Comrades Marathon and Ralph, who was standing in for Barbara, could not have done more to make our stay an absolute pleasure. - First class accommodation with brilliant attention to detail in every aspect.   For an overnight this was a good choice; our arrival was late afternoon into Durban and we were nervous about driving in the dark. It quickly falls dark around 18.00, apparently year round.
