  The owners were wonderful and supportive. The views are amazing and give a such a feeling of peace. We loved the friendless. We liked the access to bird life, the songs when echoing from swimming from the sea is wonderful.   The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, with nothing being too much trouble. The unit we stayed in was extremely well presented with some really nice personal touches added. The kids absolutely loved our stay here and we were sad to leave. 3 single beds for the kids was a real bonus. The quiet and leafy outlook was also very appealing and re... vad folk säger » laxing. Was also right across the road from Countdown (grocery shop) which was a big bonus. - Waiora Apartments was set in a lovely peaceful bush setting, lovely timber with lovely bed upstairs, clean and tidy. Downstairs was okay but only for sleeping really not a space you would want to have to stay in for a long time. I loved the calm and peaceful feeling of this place.

  We stayed four nights in March 2013 and needed the break after being robbed in Auckland. Jan and Kevin were unobtrusive but always there with help or information when we needed it. The location is a few kilometres "out of town" and we loved this. The town was too busy for us with constant traffic and people coming and going on the ferries. The view across the bay is superb and we never tir - I found The Retreat while googling accommodation in Paihia. After a long drive from South Auckland I was welcomed with a big genuine smile from Jan, who showed me my room with the spectacular view from the deck. The furniture is a dated and old but clean and the bed was really comfortable. The view from the deck is spectacular and I managed to get some wonderful sunset photos.   On arrival it was raining so we were sitting in the car waiting for it to pass over. They came out with umbrellas so we didn't get wet. Very clean and tidy, good facilities, welcoming host. All good. Its near the treaty grounds in one direction and the shops/cafes in the other. But mostly I just love that they found my tablet charger before I even knew I had lost it, and posted it on really quickly.

  This motel is just beautiful. The present photos do not do it justice, our studio apartment was fabulous, spacious, lovely decor, large comfortable bed, excellent furnishings, refreshing colours, and immaculately clean. The staff went out of their way for us. We had to be somewhere by 11am and asked if we could park our car at the motel. They went... vad folk säger » further than that, they allowed us to check into our studio, which they had prepared early. The motel is a 3 minute walk from the beach, waterfront a - Excellent Staff! Out of the 3 places we stayed in, the staff here were simply the best, friendly and only too willing to help out, with best places to eat and what attractions to see and offering umbrella's as they could see it was going to rain on our walk. (which it did). We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit, and it was like luxury, clean, modern and comfortable with free wifi to top it all off! Hubby now wishes I booked our whole stay here and not just the 1 night.

  The Swish Chalet is a comfortable, clean and friendly place to stay. We had a spacious room with sofa and kitchenette and a balcony (with flowers, just like a Swiss Chalet!) It doesn't have a lake view but does have outside space and the lake is just across the road with plenty of eateries within a few minutes walk. We stayed two nights and loved it. - The whole experience was fantastic, I was there for a few days with my work, I wanted a small motel that was clean, quiet, in a good location at a reasonable price. I feel that I got that and much more, very friendly owners who went the extra mile, under cover parking, super fast wi-fi which was spot on and I took the continental breakfast option for only $10 extra, well worth it, well done, see you next time!
