  We were 4 seniors on a fly-drive junket and pleased with our unit. It was spacious, clean, plenty of hot water, kitchen facilities were adequate for our needs and the towels and linen were clean and fresh.   The office stayed open just to check us in - we were arriving quite late. The young lady on duty tried to ring us a couple of times to check how we were going on what was a pretty terrible night weather-wise. The room easily catered for six of us - with the kids each getting a separate bed. - We loved the space of our unit and how it was tucked ... vad folk säger » away of the main street.   The owners were very friendly and supportive, giving us good advise on what to do and see in Kaikoura. It's super clean and looks/feels brand new. The location is not too far away from the center-nice walk. Excellent standard and the host couldn't do enough for us. We would definitely stay in a Bella Vista again if this is the normal standard. - The owners were awesome , super friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, comfortable and situated in a convenient place with a short walk into the township. Nest time I go to Kaikoura I will definitely be staying there.

  Good location about ten mins walk from the main area but nice for us to have a walk rather than be in the centre of everything. The owner was super helpful and welcoming.   Our stay at The Kaikoura Gateway Motor Lodge began with an easy check in at which time the owner upgraded us to a one bedroom free of charge. Nice!! The suite was spacious and well laid out with a well appointed kitchen and there was a walk out to a balcony with chairs and a table. Try the bbq shack down by the beach - we had crayfish (lobster) and - Excellent staff... The owners were helpful and informative, and the accommodation was spacious and comfortable. It far exceeded the usual tourist motel accommodation in NZ. There was also a playground opposite in alarge park for the kids to expend energy. Excellent accommodation, don't even consider anywhere else.

  The motel was very conveneient for us as an overnight stay on our way to Dunedin. We appreciated their appeciation when we realised we hadn't been charged for breakfast and we then arranged for payment to be made. All too often there is no thanks when someone goes out of their way to correct an incomplete payment ( in our case) or something else. ... vad folk säger » The room was warm and the bed comfortable parking very easy so what else could we ask for? - Outstanding hospitality. We stayed two nights on different dates and enjoyed it each time. We would go there again any time in the future. The Motel is located next to the most stunning views and walks in New Zealand. The owners are absolutely friendly and eager to help. The rooms, floors, bathroons are squirky clean. The kitchenette is well equipped. Two restaurants are just a few steps away.

  The room was warm and inviting when we arrived. The room was impressively clean. The beds were comfortable, had electric blankets and there were plently of towels. We could hear the waves right across the road as we went to sleep. In the morning we were treated to an amazing view of the mountains which had received a dusting of snow overnight.   We stayed in the King suite, as it was only $7 extra. The bed was a good size and comfortable, you could see the mountains from the car park and the suite was tastefully decorated, very clean and well-equipped. - A bit off the main drag which was nice but not far from anything. And across the road from a great fish and chip place...

  To be honest, after reading the reviews for this hotel I was not expecting very much at all, but I wanted somewhere cheap (and this was the cheapest by heaps for my family of four). I was very pleasantly suprised when we arrived.... The room was spotless, especially the bathroom and also the kitchen. The staff were also very - The staff were great for attending to our needs. they are a 25 minute walk from town, we had a bus to catch at 4pm and we were able to walk into town in the morning and they kindly dropped our luggage off to us later in the afternoon so we didnt have to walk back to get it. They do the free drop off and pick up which was unbelievably helpful. It was a great price for the room we had. We required a later check out and they extended it by an hour which was more than enough and at no extra charge.

  I liked the guy that runs it, very "salt of the earth" and a happy sort of a chappy. He gave us a voucher for the Pier Hotel where we'd booked for dinner so we got a free wine and beer with our meal. I loved it in the morning when the sunrise looked like it was coming across the water especially for me. I had a nice early morning walk on the beach... vad folk säger » with that golden sunrise. I also liked that it had an ashtray outside our door on a wee table so I didn't have to feel like a scumbag for having a co - Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable and a great location close to the sea. Value for money. Nice to have outside furniture to use and able to fit bigger group.
